I am a taoist, and rather beleive in marijuana use as a tool twards easing a contriving mind. I am often riddled with distant ambition which pains me and would lead me to counterproductive radicalism if not releived from time to time. I find it brings patience and acceptance, yet it can also bring these things when they aren't quite needed, therefor in the end it is all a matter of balance. by this I don't mean I wouldn't smoke everyday if I could, yet I would just get buzzed so long as I had things productive to do.

Yes and no. Yes, every religion has a philosophy, and that's the thing used to justify. BUT, the difference is the idea of absolute truth handed down from on high, usually from an infallible god.

Plus, when you have sheep at your disposal, it's easy to do evil with or to them, and get them to accept it willingly.

I dont think im any religion. If i am, im atheist. I dont believe there is a god, and i dont believe people should force religion on to others. I am open minded, and i dont care what people believe in, as long as they dont try to drag me into it. I follow by my own beliefs, such as Karma, and to be peaceful to one another.

rhasta penguin, 'atheist' means 'no religion'
agnostic should translate to something like 'no sureness' or something like that, or maybe its a contraction of acognostic which is just 'no thought'. basically it means, you dont know, or dont care, and just have the wavering oppinion or no oppinion at all.

Karma is incredibly rational. It's just cause and effect, which is how everything works. You poison the environment, you poison yourself (what you do the the environment you do to yourself). You act hatefully to others, they'll act hatefully to you. You get what you give, what goes around comes around. This is fundamental. Give love, and love will find you. Give negetivity and you'll only find negetivity. It's rare that you smile at someone and they don't smile back. It's like that, but on a larger scale. You can't always see it, not immediately, but why would cause and effect only work on small, visible scales, and not over large ones over longer time periods?

To try and put to rest any confusion, someone who is agnostic is a person who believes that it is impossible to know weather there is a God and because of this does not follow any. An Atheist denies the existence of God.

On a more personal note, I was raised a Christain, I dont go to church, my parents do however. I would be lying if I said I didnt believe in God as well as many other aspects and teachings found in the Bible. In addition to this there are many things that I do not necessarily agree with or take literally, I also have a very open mind.

To keep this on topic for the Marijuana forum, I would just like to add that it is amazing the types of conversations about religion one can get into while stoned and how MJ can bring people from around the world, who believe in different religion's deities etc together.

    peace - J

Actually, an atheist is someone who simply does not have a belief in god, they may or may not DENY the existence of one.

And agnosticism is not a 3rd option between atheism and theism. Atheism and theism deal with whether you believe in god or not, and agnosticism and gnosticism deal with whether that belief or disbelief is based on knowing or not knowing. You can't just be agnostic; you either believe in god or you don't. So we have 4 categories

Agnostic atheist: disbelieves in god due to lack of evidence
Gnostic atheist: believes they know for a fact god does not exist
Agnostic theist: believes in god out of faith
Gnostic theist: believes they know for a fact god exists
