What Do You Think About 2012?

I've been reading a lot into these 2012 conspiracy theories lately, and honestly, there are so many! Some are insane, others could possibly be true. Tell me what you think is going to happen, if anything at all?

I think its gonna be like y2k w ppl acting insane thinking the worlds over then realizing how stupid they where when nothing happens.

 

For now people are going crazy over it. There are TV programs and movies about it now, and a lot of people, while not fully convinced (or else they might be preparing) at least consider the idea, however briefly. The people that are into it are going to be the same people who all of a sudden "never believed a word of it" so that they can blend in with the people who were not bandwagon idiots.

There have been over 200 false predictions in the past 2000 years, mostly attributed to either religion or ancient astrology. What makes this one any different? I do not buy it for a moment.

 

That it's attributed to a modern complete mistranslation and misunderstanding of ancient astrology =P

 

2012 is gonna be just as boring as all the last years...

 

Something could happen, but probably not. We'll all just have to wait, I guess. Something could happen any time, so we will probably just be blindsided by a giant meteor tomorrow because we were all so busy looking at 2012.

 

It won't be meteors. If it is meteors you can bet the Annunaki were behind it. Because IF anything happens it'll be aliens. For sure. We're just waiting for the cycle where our planetary brother orbits close to the sun. Then it's on people.
I think they'd like me though. I have their genetics blueprinted all inside of me.

I like Terrence McKenna's theory. After he did the chinese iching algorithm and absolute zero occurred on the algorithm right around the same time as the end of the mayan calendar, he said his theory was that time appears to end because it signifies a time when the way in which humans view the concept of time changes completely from linear to something else.

wow. that was a very convoluted run-on sentence.

 

Well time isn't linear. Keeping things in a linear perspective just makes things easier. It's how we are wired. Maybe we will evolve into creatures that can utilize time in a different matter. But I doubt it.

 

I think we will eventually. I don't think it has anything to do with 2012, although that is my favorite theory regarding 2012, but I think eventually some event or some kind of collective awakening will change the way humans perceive time as a whole.

pure conjecture on my part, but fun to think about.

1) 1984 (Orwell), 2000 (Millennium Bug), 2012 (Mayan theory) – All have come and gone – for those of conscience, a form of control?
- I await the commercialism of “I survived 2012” T-Shirts etc
2) Maybe if we knew what occurred at the end of the Jurassic period, we would be better advised
- How many chances do we get?
3) An observation that, If we don’t Save the Planet, it will save itself, remaining – but not as we know it
- And do we ‘as a whole’ deserve to

- Have we already been prepared? And the action taken is beyond our knowledge

Maybe being wiped the fuck out would do us some good.

 

The only thing for sure in life on this planet is that change is a constant . Nothing stays the same forever .

The earth is rapidly changing , and it's not for the good . Severe weather events , floods , droughts , famine , world food shortages , population out of control , depletion of natural resources , water shortages ,earthquakes increasing , sea level rising , ice caps melting . Sure many will argue global "warming is a hoax " , or these are just "natural cycles " . And even if that's true it still doesn't change the fact that it's going to be bad for the human race .

Regardless of if 2012 happens or not . We are on an UNSUSTAINABLE , path to destruction ! Natural resources are being depleted at astonishing rates . If man doesn't change his disregard for mother earth , and his fellow human beings . Then he will perish . If not in 2012 , then at some other time . There is coming an end to this madness . Either by God , man's destruction of himself , or mother nature purging herself to save herself from man . What ever you choose to believe , things are happening NOW !

The writings on the wall for humanity . I mean I'm not saying it's going to happen on that very date , however it is going to happen on some date .

I think self delusion , denial and dissociation are very real in our society today . I also think to some extent the problems are far worse then we are being led to believe .

 

Nothing will happen, especially nothing related to the Maya calender because, like Duck said, there was a miscalculation so it didn't end on 2012 anyway. Well, not only because of that, 'cause even if the date was right I'd bet it wouldn't have any consequences either.
