I did not know where else to post this...So who has heard of the Pacific Northwest Tree Octopus? There was an article about this unusual phenomenon on Yahoo today. After reading up on the tree octopus and its relatives, I believe they are here in the Smoky Mountains, too. There were some ribbons and paper money in my yard after a storm and I am convinced that it could have been the remains of an octopus nest. I plan to go hiking later to try to photograph one. It might also explain the odd slithering sound on my roof sometimes at night that upsets my cats. I was wondering if anyone else has had an octopus experience.
