I just got a job in AZ and am moving to Sierra Vista (or the surrounding area). I'm hoping to meet some nice, chill people and get some insight on a good area to live. I am house-hunting and will be there in a few weeks. (I am currently in SW Florida.) I won't be spending more than $150k, so does anyone have any advice for the parts of town or surrounding area that I should absolutely stay away from? (I have two tweens, so it's kind-of important to go somewhere they would be safe.) Also, does anyone know about anything good on the social scene? I'm not a big drinker and I don't use any drugs, but I want to meet people who are a little leftish, enthusiastic about environmental conservation, maybe someone to yoga with or stuff like that. This isn't intended as a personal ad, but I guess in a way, it is. I'll be out there alone until June, when my kids will join me, and I am hoping to meet some like-minded people to hang with/talk to. Thanks for reading.
I just moved out here myself from georgia. I know don in tempe there will be a lot of diffrent people and things to do that will intrest you. I am really not sure how far that is from you but, I have ran into all walks of life there, if you ever have free time go check it out but do a little reasearch first ad to what your looking for
Hey there! This is funny, because I moved out here 3 months ago. I grew up near Orlando. Haha, cool. ANywho, I would be happy to help you out with whatever you have questions for. So, I actually live in Huachuca City, which is 3 miles north of SV, and I travel through SV on my way to work everyday. I work for the Forest Service here in Hereford, which is 3 miles south of SV. Huachuca City is a very quite little place with mostly residential streets (which I like, because there's no loud parties/music/yelling cows). As far as living in SV, well.... read below. So you asked about the social scene here. I did to before I moved here, and never really got a clear answer. Everyone was just like, well, it's okay, I guess. Whelp, the true answer is that it be-lows. This town is about as main-stream as it can get, it's down right, horrible. Not because of violence and crimes, but because there is no 'scene', what-so-ever. Now, it's not all hope is lost, because, Bisbee is only a 30 min drive, and Flagstaff (my all time favorite town, and I've traveled all over) is a 5 hour drive (just made it back down last night from a 5 day weekend, Go Packers! ). So, if you have any questions, please ask. I'll be around
