well, this is the writers forum and this piece is erotic, sad and very disturbing, that's for sure! i don't believe in censorship... if it exists in the human condition, it should be explored/discussed/debated etc...

what i do believe in is the artist taking responsibility for what he/she has created and to be very clear as to exactly what the point of the work is... the molestation of children is a very serious subject, and i would hope that any art form would not collude to make it seem a normal or acceptable thing... you must be prepared for an angry gut reaction from readers, as many people have been sexually abused as children themselves or have seen the devastation that sexual abuse has had upon the development of their own children or children they knew/know of...

from your responses to readers so far, i am not convinced that you are such a person... i may be wrong. i don't know you...

i will also add that i thought the way you depicted the characters perceptions of what they thought they were to each other, was very insightful... (she as his pet/toy and he as her boyfriend)

to be honest, if i had read this as a kid, i would probably not have believed the lies my Grandfather told me so he could get in my knickers, so i can't say that i think work like this shouldn't be allowed to exist... shit happens and the more we have opportunities to talk about things, the better... but, like i said, it has to be dealt with responsibly...

i feel sick...



oh, and a purely practical crit... you call her a pre-teen and then later a 13 year old.... a pre teen would be 12...

That is just an arrogant statement. Why even bother to post your writing on a forum in order to get feedback if you already think you have reached a level in your writing that is above all critique and negative feedback?

You are obviously not a published and well-respected writer or you would be submitting your work to your editor and not a forum. Maybe you should consider a bit of humility when posting work on here.

My apologies for responding. I did not realize that you put your work on here simply to validate your own opinions.

You are right. Not every writer strives to produce a particular quality of work that will make the reader stop and think about what they have read.

^^^ we don't know that for sure IB... i'm not making any accusations but i just think you can't assume that... my grand father used to write poems about us... he was also extremely arrogant and lacked humility BIG TIME!!!!

i wouldn't know about any of this, but if assumptions are correct it sounds twisted

people can be fucked up.

 

every writer does this to a certain extent, even when writing about a situation that is completely unfamiliar to them. He may not be drawing on real events but there is a strong chance he is drawing on some kind of emotion or idea that he is familiar with.

I don't really have a problem with the subject matter but I think it could have been handled better. Of course, I'm just a lowly amateur writer not on the same level as rambleon, so what do i know?

actually my work is copy righted and they are in a producers hands, who in turn have other connections. I will be doing something big with my work. Don't trust me on this if you don't want. But it is what it is. I am very exciting about the future and writing.
