Well, I finally did it! My salvia bag is broken in now. I was slightly unprepared for what was about to happen to me, and it still is having minor residual effects. Short of anything else, it was one of the oddest, but best experiences of my life! I didn't use any of the "proper" ways of smoking it; meaning I didn't have a bong or a bubbler, and I didn't have a torch lighter, and I'm sure I didn't hold the smoke long enough, mostly because of fear and rightly so, but I still had a small and short trip. I decided to roll up one small leaf in a filtered cigarette tube, which from all I heard wouldn't work, but it was what I had. In my "improper" method I stepped out on my patio to light it up, which was mistake number one because my legs started to get really wobbly and I started feeling very weak. I stumbled back inside and sat down on the couch. Then I started feeling a pulling sensation on the outside of my skin. Then I started to drift in and out of my living room open-eyed, which seemed annoying and mundane, to a huge sparkly star shaped "elsewhere". 5 or 10 minutes later I was 99% back to "reality" and able to walk again. The only hiccup in my trip was that #1: I left the TV on which became very annoying, VERY!, and #2: My dog was in the living room and decided to pay extra attention to me while I was tripping, which I couldn't tolerate and was uncontrollably yelling at her to go away. I think she sensed that something was up with me. Next time I will definitely HOLD longer, have the TV OFF, and the dog PUT AWAY! And maybe I'll get a bong.
The stuff is a real trip! Probably good thing you didn't go head first into it, standing up with the tv on and a dog on the loose and all.
I think this is a good way to sort of test the water before you dive right in. I assume you were smoking leaf crumbles and not the extract? I had residual effectss from my two salvia trips man, to say the least. Treat it with mucho respect. I think humility is an importiant thing when it comes to accepting the salvia experiance...
I was using dried leaves, not extract, thank god (not that there is one....). I can't imagine what the extract would've done to me, even not doing it right! I must've got some pretty good quality leaves from my online distributor. Next time I will cut the filter off, hold the smoke longer, have the dog put away, and the TV off for sure! I was actually surprised how many leaves were in an ounce when I got it, but if I keep going at this rate, and considering 1 small leaf filled a whole cigarette, I will have about enough to trip out every night for the next 8 months or so, providing nobody else wants to get in on the experience, AND I do it every night (which isn't very likely). As soon as I get this down to a science I'll get some extract and try that out. I will keep trying it every night or so to see where I can get with the tools I have been given. I also might try a tea, but I'm sure the leaves need to be rinsed or something before you brew them. Any other advice would be very helpful, and greatly appreciated. Your fellow humble space traveler.
If you're going to smoke it joint/blunt style (I used to) then you can't really know what to expect from it. I had some pretty vivid and intense experiances smoking blowls/joints/blunts of dried leaf crumbles... but they were nothing like what happened to me on my 25x extracy breakthroughs... like two totally different worlds of experiance from the same substance. But my only advice is to be careful with a lit joint... find a way to make sure if you zone out/nodd off while smoking it you don't catch your bed or carpet on fire. I would be prime to have a friend to make sure you're strait, but if you can't just take extra precausions to be careful.
