When I get a good job... I'm gonna turn it into a hangout... I'm throw some carpeting down.. build a stage.. Poetry readings, live music, hookah lounge... coffee food... People can display their art... I'm gonna put some sofas in there plenty of chairs and shit for people to sleep on... or just sit.. I'm working out this money system because I just wanna leave out the food and coffee for people to get themselves but I need some way for them to pay me Most of the furniture will probably come from yard sales or thrift stores.... I'm gonna put mirrors on the walls and put blacklights all over the ceiling... Its going to be fuckin amazing... this is like my dream... And I'm determined... :devil:

sounds like an awesome idea. you could charge for food on a donation only basis, or charge a small cover charge to get in, maybe just a couple bucks or something. I was thinking about doing something like this too. My town has an arts district that has pretty cheap buildings for rent, most artists go in together and do the co-op thing. I would like to rent out a building and use it as a place for people to come and work on their art during the day, section off an area in the front for a gallery, and use it for poetry readings and a musical venue at night. I understand what Odon is trying to say, I don't think he was trying to insult your idea at all, just pointing out that certain people might come in and take advantage of the set-up and ruin it for everyone. Things like that have been known to happen but it doesn't mean it will happen with you. Anywho..best of luck to you in your plans!
