    OK,

So, right now I'm agnostic. But I started listening to Tool and I'm getting new ideas. I went to Alex Grey's website www.alexgrey.com(The guy that did the awesome psychedelic art for the Lateralus album by Tool.) and I saw the Sacred Mirrors. Is there a relgion where like everything in the universe is connected, and we can see all this stuff(and go into other contiousnesses and all that other stuff) and more by dreams and psychedelic substances(Pot, LSD, mushrooms, peyote, ect.)?

Also, what relgion is James Maynard Keenan and the other members of Tool? I thought they believed in that stuff...? It showed the Universal Mind Lattice and all that stuff in the Parabola video.

    Thx

p.s. I went to the religion forum for this and some dude told me to try it here.

check out eastern philosophies, I'm pretty sure maynards getting into that pretty big with the way lateralus went..... if you're into psychedelics check out some books by timothy leary or ram dass.......

ram dass will be the hammer to hit that nail right on the head......
I think it stems mostly from hinduism....check out some hindu stuff....

One way that uses a lot of psychedelics and stuff to find out about different planes and levels of conciousness would be the rather open shamanic tradition. Basically you take enough drugs to come to an understanding of the world that works for you, but you don't just sit around getting high all the time and tripping like every day... You make a ritual out of it... almost more of a scientific art of trying to harmonize your soul with the world around you. There really aren't any rules or governing features about being a shaman other than that you simply claim to understand certain things, although you realize that they might not work in the lives of each person. Through focusing on people you want to help while you are on some of the substances, you can sometimes see things that don't make sense to the concious mind, but make perfect sense in these other planes that you might experience. If you trust in your visions and experiences enough to work change in your life, then through those same means, you supposedly can help other people work changes in their life. That's just one way, but don't quote me exactly on some of that info.... that's just a broad over-view, and I probably didn't articulate my thoughts all that well. Good luck though, and I hope that helps. Try going to Erowid for some help, or look at Native American religions for some guidance.... you know peyote was used by the plains people to experience a different type of plane (haha... i made i pun!) than that which those which they physically lived in... Peyote Coyote is kinda a reference to their culture anyways....

    Peace,

    -Mac
