I dreaded my hair My mom knows how to get dreads started. And she just did the... uh... twist method? Idk, but it looks pretty badass. I like the messy dreads where not all the hair is in a tight dread, so I guess that's good. I think it looks more feminine. Anywho. I'll put up pics tomorrow because it's like 11 right now
Way to go! (although natural knots are more fun ) :cheers2 Did she do it like this? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VimvRHBJTqw"]Twist and Rip
nope. I'm doing it more the natural way. She literally just twisted it. Like I could just take it and untwist it simply. She says that doing that just kind of molds the hair so it'll dread without a weird mess. Idk how to explain myself. But I've seen her work on other people and she's pretty damn good at it so I don't question ahah.
Nice, you get to actually 'watch' things knot and become awesome. That's an interesting idea... It will probably fall out the first time you scrub your scalp though
Buggered If I Can Wrap My Head Around Why People Have To Scrub The Scalp... Since I Started Dreading *18 months on the 11th* I Have Not Once Scrubbed Or Massaged My Scalp. All I Do Is Pour The Baking Soda Solution Over My Head, And As I Do So I Just "PAT MY HEAD", So As Not To Unravel The Tiny Beginnings Of A Dreadling. As I Have Said Time And Time Again On Here, After 18 Months I Have Never Experienced Dandruff, Oilyness, Flaking, Or Itchyness...:2thumbsup:. I Would Have No Hesitation In Saying My Scalp And Hair Have Never Been This Good In Living Memory, And In GLEN's Case, Living Memory Is A BLOODY LONG TIME...............................................................:bigcry: Cheers Glen.
Ahh yes, the pat! I always forget the pat. I dunno mang, I guess I just really like to rub my scalp. I definitely did my best to avoid it when the knots were forming though.
I normally scrub. I use only water so I assumed I would have to scrub harder than normal...guess I'll try the pat technique next time
Aw but Glen, can't you resist a good head massage when you've got the hot water running and the salty suds of the bicarb a-happenin?! I <3 scrubbing. It makes me happy. Looking forward to the pics ^^ And do tell us when the twists start to fall out
Chaos can't see your pictures for some reason. All she sees is an empty post... I, on the other hand, can the see the pictures just fine. :cheers2:
