So, question is pretty straight forward. Does anyone know how long a pill of speed (amphetamine) stays good for? If there even is an expiry date? If so... is it just not as effective or are there possible unwanted (other than the regular) side effects?

    Thanks

amphetamines and other drugs are crystalized to ensure purity, they are considered to be anhydrous and do not have water molecules attracted to the polar sites. after a period of time atmospheric humidity slowly re adsorb into the crystaline structure changing the the latice and saturating the bonding sites. most pharmaceuticals will contain HCl to off set the rehydration of the compounds. in other words the longer you wait to use a pharmaceutical the more likely that it won't be as strong due to water in the air.

Pharmaceutical amphetamine is not the hcl, as it is quiote hydroscopic. Not that it would really affect potency, amphetamine is quite stable.
