Herpes scares me the most. HPV is new to me and it seems women are more at risk of contracting it than men, from what I've read.
It's most likely HPV. HPV is so common, and often asymptomatic, there's no reason to suspect either of you have cheated, but one of you most certainly contracted it from another partner. This is why there is now an HPV vaccination. Most people don't know they have it. For her, there is a slight increase in the likelihood of cervical cancer. Most of the time, the warts will disappear, but the virus will always remain.
HPV confuses me. I know HPV supposedly leads to cervical cancer, although it doesn't make a lot of sense to me that a virus can cause cancer. Not to get into conspiracy theories, but I suspect a lot of that has to do with vaccine sales.... HPV is also related to mono, I believe. And genital warts. How does one virus manifest into so many different things? It doesn't make a lot of sense to me.
Yes. I checked in my local area and for now it is available only to women, unfortunately. Otherwise, I would have already gotten it.
I did some reading on HPV yesterday. There are a ton of different strains of HPV. The vaccine only covers the one that supposedly causes cervical cancer, which is why its only available to women. I still don't think a virus can cause cancer and the vaccine is just another way for the pharmeceutical industry to make a buck. imho.
They have also found a link between the strain of HPV that causes Cervical Cancer and Throat Cancer. Stay Brown, Rev J
From my laymen understanding, the reason a virus like HPV can cause cancer is in order for a virus to replicate itself it needs a host cell. A virus is a nonliving organism consisting of RNA or DNA encased in a protective protein shell. When a virus enters the host cell it attacks the nucleus and injects/attaches its DNA/RNA onto one (maybe more) of the hosts chromosome(s) or completely replaces the host DNA and uses the hosts natural replication ability to make copies of itself. In the process of DNA/RNA transfer the host can become damaged and unable to function or replicate properly producing pre-cancerous or cancerous cells. If any of this info is inaccurate feel free to correct me.
scarey :-| How common are STDs in America? Sexually active teens and young adults: Ages 15 to 24 years old get over half of all new STD/STIs each year. Have the highest rates of Chlamydia. Ages 15 to 19 years old, have the highest rates of gonorrhea. About 1 in 4 teen girls gets an STD/STI. About 1 in 5 teens and adults gets genital herpes, and it is more common in women than in men. As many as half of all sexually active men and women have been infected with genital types of human papillomavirus (HPV) at some time in their lives. Every 1.5 seconds another person contracts an STD - that's 19 million STDs per year of which only some are curable. 70 million people in the U.S. have an STD,1,2 over 80% don't know they are infected because they have no symptoms. The estimated total number of people in the US living with a viral STD is over 65 million. Of the STDs/STIs that are diagnosed, only some (gonorrhea, syphilis, chlamydia, hepatitis A and B) are required to be reported to state health departments and the CDC. One in two sexually active persons will contact an STD/STI by age 25. "
Your telling me she hasnt notcied a wart on her own vagina?!?!? over 6-8months ago?!?! Thats strange....
Statistically men exagertate sexual experience and women downplay it [pretend they have less] i was honest [accurate]. Do the MATH ! These stats you can find on google. So if anyone cheated, statistically the female is the more likely culprit. A gyno visit DOESNT confirm warts you have SEEN? That is serious criminal fraud ... thats one possible explanation ! I was with a girl [a witch] who had her whole inner lining filled with warts needless to say my sex life is over. She lied repeadedly that she never had an STD ... Women usually dont know, their organs being hidden inside ... unless a men tells them, [the male is the litmus test, lucky man] This STD is incurable, so know that your sex life is finished, you will only infect any future partner you have. Hard to call knowingly infecting others LOVE. The Warts tend to come back even when removed by liquid nitrogen. You discovered one of the many incurable STDs which cause infertility and many other serious problems medicine downplays in men, but they are there, if you look hard, youll find serious effects on men. Suggest start researching ... When you read how it doesnt affect men, SKIP on to the next doctor youll find SOME who will tell you the truth. I can tell you from experience its a bad disease. AND echo that you dont know if SHE cheated or not, also if her last partner was shortly b4 you, the warts may have reached spore stage after you slept with her. It pays to know who you sleep with a few years before sex, a commodity exploited to the max by guess who ? Same old crew. There is likely already a cure for this illnesss as with HIV and cancer but no-one is selling it to public yet, or writing what it is in any journals.
WRONG ! With antibiotic resistant strains of even gono and clamydia ANY STD can turn out to be incurable, depending on your bodys receptivity to the drugs and immunity. clamydia at the top is the most widely spread STD, it can induce infertility in BOTH sexes [contrary to male oriented medicine] fairly quickely if you are resistant to treatment. There are now about 40 known STDs there is no test for some, they are treated by symptoms only. Mycoplasma, Ureaplasma are just a couple I remember, but there are many more for which there arent conclusive testing available, or definative treatments. Hit a miss antibiotics really, may work, may be resistant. The big pharma labs sawc no prifit [a dr told me] or OTHER agenda in continuing NEW antibiotic development, as a result no NEW antibiotics have been developed in over 2o yrs. The BUGS are getting resistant to the old ones [heard of planned obsolesence?] and STDs are at the top of list of resistant bugs. The good news is world is overpopulated so, planned non-production of drugs to treat reproductive illnesses fits in well. THe sleazier characters are being phased out of existance. sleezy=seedy=funky=groovy=hippie ! Amazing how a few synonyms make it all clear. I made a list once of STDs ... lost ... it took a search of several sites to compile [leave that to you] one site had 10, another 25, another 3 new ones etc ... till I had about 40 total STDs. Truth is its socially unacceptable to talk of this ... even doctors will react wnhen presented with a patient, you want to know what I learned youll need to invets a few days on th net to find it all, much is hidden.
well, if it is genital warts you guys should be treated by a doc right away. my best friend got hers from her ex and it broke her for a couple of months until she got proactive and decided to treat the warts and use protection everytime she had sexual contact. she was on Oxyfend for quite a while to make sure the warts went away. STI may be shurgged off by many (including me before!) but when that happened to somebody i know i got scared. better safe than sorry.
i agree with chris_hill6. seek treatment from your doc. or you can try what was suggested earlier. try Oxyfend Zerowarts. i also have a friend who's using it now. she just got genital warts recently and ordered the cream online. i think it's giving her relief and comfort.
