You know, shove a whole lotta fruit in a blender and drink...mmmmmmm... Me and my friend are going on a huge smoothie binge to keep him from drinking too much coffee and coke, and I'm having eating probs (never hungry, always exhausted/low in energy) so I was wondering if anyone has any good combinations of fruits or veges we could try? It's summer here so we've got everything from peaches to pineapples to limes to apples I'd really appreciate it! From my alcoholic drink-mixing experiences I've learnt my combinations are good on an extremely small scale (a sip) but on any bigger "it's too creamy/salty/strong meh meh meh" people all complain too much
I like banana milkshakes... but milk isn't too healthy Altho you can still use those bananas after they turn brown on the outside, just put em in a blender... man, I don't even know what exactly a smoothie is Would you mind telling me so that I could possibly make some later today?
you like, get lots of random fruits and put them in a food processor till theyre like total liquid (not like my milkshakes where theyre just lumpy banana and milk hehe) and usually with ice. they taste yummyyy. But I keep getting cravings for food like smoothies when I'm in town so I buy one and theyre like NZ$6 ($12 american I think) really expensive, so I wanna make my own.. One I had the other day was (I think) lemon, grapefruit, lime and orange, great for hangovers. So you just get the flesh part of the fruit (leave skin on apples though) and liquify it all together.
I dunno. I kinda assumed it wouldnt cause I never manage to liquefy everything and I like using straws so I hate my blender. *hits blender* So if you try it tell me and if it works, I'll stop abusing my blender and use it again. That'll save finding a food processor too.
I make smoothies all the time in the blender. One of my favorite is peanut butter and banana. Peel and freeze a banana for 1/2 hour to an hour, then pop it in the blender with some cold soymilk and peanut butter and blend. You could actually apply the fruit freezing method to pretty much any smoothie; it makes it so you don't have to water it down with ice. Apple, banana, strawberry and pineapple blended with soymilk makes a really good smoothie.
dude! banana and peanut butter! I'm so gonna try that! Does it taste better with soymilk than normal milk or do you not drink normal milk?
I prefer it with soymilk--it's healthier and in my opinion tastes better--BUT it's all a matter of preference and regular milk works just fine.
