Slappyman, you're right. What would all the cops, narcs, prison guards, bureaucrats ,courts ,lawyers and the rest of the gigantic anti-drug industry do without being able to bust pot heads. The money. Always the money.

Courts hate pot busts. They clog up the courts, people busted for simple possession are generally ROR'd instead of having a bail, and the end result after going to court 5 times is generally conditional discharge and drug classes, which cost the state money.

I don't know man. Seems like if the courts hated pot busts, they would just start dismissing the cases out of hand. Kind of like jury nullification ,only judge nullification. But I guess they have to follow the law as written. I think I disagree with you on this. Yeah--I do.

They do a lot of times especially if you have no record, not to mention the fact depending where you live police will often let you go if you have just a little weed on you. This is why despite the fact simple possession of weed can carry jail time in every state from laws left over from decades ago, almost no one caught with a gram of weed in their pocket spends a year in jail.

Also judges can't do "judge nullification"

it's the black market - if it's not the government, you are giving money to criminals and junkies anyways.

how would people prefer they made money? a little bit of foul play that doesn't effect you, at least in terms of p.o.s

or watching cannabis being taxed to shit after it's legalisation?

I think it depends on where you get caught with cannabis. I read a story down here in Florida where two 19 years olds got pulled over for speeding. The police asked to search the car and the two refused. A K9 was brought in and alerted to drugs in the car, police searched and found a small amount of cannabis. The story didn't specify how much except that it was less then 20 grams which is a misdemeanor here in Florida.

The story takes an odd twist here. The two teenagers were traveling to Florida from Ohio, which I guess caused a problem because they got charged with 2 felonies and 2 misdemeanors. They were charged with transporting a controlled substance into the state and operating a drug vehicle both felonies and the misdemeanor marijuana possession and possession of drug paraphernalia, also a misdemeanor.

Go across state lines it goes over to the feds, and they have minimum sentencing guidelines. Yikes.

What drugs is she talking about? I see most of you talking about marijuana but if small amounts of drugs are allowed for possession, then that would free up the need to have DEA license to do research on many schedule one compounds. That could have amazing results for humanity.
