If it were the grateful dead your ticket would'nt say furthur, am i right? or iam the only one who this bothers when people are running around screaming about the dead!!! no honey, its furthur, bob and phil from the dead but its not the whole dead family furthur defiently has a Groovin Great Band! but why do people call it the grateful dead, is is beacuse they heard the ripple song or eyes of the world being perfeormed in there face?!?! Please tell me you opinion i am quite curiouse, cuz i never know i could be wrong
Who wants to see further? Most people would like to see TGD. Fan : "I went to see, Further, the other night...had an awesome time!" Friend: "Who?" Fan: *sigh" "Ok, I went to see TGD." Friend: "Awesome, their so cool, man"
but they didnt see the grateful dead they saw bob weir, Phill lesh and freinds. It just bothers me i think, it to why i am asking other opinons. My frinds are bouncing arounf saying i saw the grateful dead this week end, and all i do is put my heads down and nodd thinking, if they only knew..... When i see Furthur i tell ppl i saw Furthur, they say, "who" i say, bob and phill from TGD, and freinds! but the fact they only know that jerry isnt there, i dont know if they really know what they saw? I guess what iam saying is can a band still be called a band names even if there are only two of the original members? NO thats why there Furthur, Iam so confused with my own question now !!!!
i call them furthur. i guess maybe people call them the dead because they are the closest thing we have today. also, like odon said, if you talking to anyone that doesn't know grateful dead music and you tell them you went to see furthur they will have no idea what you are talking about.
another "furthur" vote. Although some of my buddies who were long time traveling heads (starting in the 70s) jokingly say the dead.
dude, jerry is always there. its not about flesh. its about the music, about the spirit. john plays with the spirit of jerry. he has brought me to my knees with tears of joys. jerry is at every show man. the love of jerry, the spirit of jerry, the family of jerry. jerry lives through his music man. ive never seen jerry but, ive felt him.
FUCKING TRUTH. He is ALWAYS there!!! now, in regards to the question...i haven't personally heard anyone say I'm going to see the Grateful Dead...except, as in the already stated case, if the person was explaining who/what Furthur is to someone not all too familiar with The Grateful Dead in the first place Furthur is it's own entity, but it's a branch from the Grateful Dead...and again Jerry is at every show :sunny: I somewhat empathize with your irritation though
They call it that because it's a part of the EXTENDED DEAD FAMILY! It's interesting that The Dead are the only ones who could really get away with this kind of thing. But The Dead where always different anyway.
I can't wait to see the dead at Allgood this year. No for real though, semantics are meaningless when the music plays the band.
