I can't vouch for drinking but be SUPER careful if you smoke...for instance, take very small, slow drags because dry sockets are the worst...I had a few and they were brutal!

Yeah the faq sheet I was given mentioned dry sockets. That doesn't really sound that cool, to be honest. I think the dentist thought I might slip because she told me to buy some pain killers.

I've know people to drink afterwards, but it seems some people say different things. One friend said he was told it can make the wound where the tooth was bleed  I don't know. Another has his wisdom teeth out and was told not to drink for 24hrs due to the anaesthetic. But, then some friends have and were fine

Oh well, have one on me then before you go!

The pain varies between people, so you might be fine!

alcohol causes the white blood cells to shrink, which stymies the healing (coagulating) process a little ........ a brew won't kill ya, but it does mean ya new hole will take a lil' longer to heal..

smoke... tooo much risk of it causing an infection and again it slows the healing process as your body will rush new blood to the wound to try and flush the smoke residue away..

either way, neither are fatal or very sensible :mickey:

With an extraction, I always found extreme temperatures harder to deal with. So drink that beer warm until it heals a little.

Hope the pain is short lived and the healing fast. :)

    I wouldn't, what's two days? A dry socket isn't worth the 5 minute, uh...pleasure of a cigarette.
