Bobby Ray, rapping about psychedelics (dmt in particular)

I recently got into B.o.b or as I like to call him, Bobby Ray. When you listen to his songs you can tell they were DEFINATELY inspired by psychedelics. He uses them for spiritual purposes too, which is, in my opinion the best way to use 'em.

anyone who has ever done DMT or a high dose of shrooms knows what he's talking about ;]

 

I can't listen to the song but that can refer to any high dose psychedelic probably.

 

the beginning of the song sounds real generic, like a tpain song or some shit. I was about to give up on it then he started rapping. I like his flow

 

I have never experienced that with a high dose LSD trip. But I've experienced it with high dose shrooms and my girlfriend did on her DMT trip

 

I love his flow, and his lyrics can vary a lot, but when they're good they're great.

'Magic' is my favorite, but I only like it when he sings the refrain himself.

 

So why is it about DMT? I guess i can see psychedelics, but not a specific substance.

 

Based on the lyrics that have been given, my guess is it would be about salvia not DMT.

Very well could not even be about drugs.

He raps about DMT in other songs too. He makes several hints to it, where he mentions being everything and then he says "i do not need an engine I can ascend into the stars, remember a dream, is never a dream, is never a dream."

totally about DMT, not salvia. I've done salvia way tooooo much, and it's just too abbraisive for me and not all that psychedelic (but I'm comparing it to high dose LSD and shroom trips, both of which I found profoundly more intense than salvia). DMT is just as profound, and intense, but way more gentle. Of course that is my personal opinion.

 

also, I have done salvia a LOT. I've done tons of psychedelics a LOT. I've never really experienced "being everything, and everything being me" on salvia. Just DMT and shrooms. And yes I've had the highest extracts of salvia.

This just goes to show that everybody has different experiences with psychedelics, I guess we'll never know what he did, not that we care. He knows, and he's with us, and that's one more person added to the family =].

 

That reminds of the unfolding sensation many people, including myself experience on salvia. Its certainly ambiguous enough that it could be anything from LSD to salvia to DMT to Heroin.

Have you had DMT experience, first you said just your girlfriend...???

 

maybe its not about drugs at all. Maybe drugs are the "engine" and hes talking about how he doesn't need them to get to this dream place that isn't really a dream.

he isn't the only rapper to talk about trippin though. Cudi and Chip tha Ripper repeatedly refer to mushrooms. Chip says "blue magic flowin out my pores, tongue full of fungus spores, the front row subject to my illness and more"

I think that's arguable. I would definitely agree that he's added a little bit of entertainer and lost a little bit of artist. But he talks about struggling with being commercial in some of those commercial songs.
