I have PTSD, panic disorder and general anxiety disorder. I also have PCOS.

Currently, I'm seeking treatment in a partial hospitalization program, learning lots of coping skills and things of that nature. Everything I've been learning is incredibly beneficial but I really think my problem in hormonal. I've been screaming this at my doctors (not literally, I may start to though) and no one is listening. The 5 days prior to my period it feels like a literally switch FLIPS and I become suicidal, anxious, depressed, and generally fucking crazy.

I've had a great week, I've been using my coping skills, and doing really well. And tonight rolls around and I'm 5 days from my period and BAM. I get hit with a FLOOD of anxiety. I know how to track my symptoms and I had no lead up symptoms and it just HITS me, chemically. It's so hard to combat truly chemical body reactions.

I don't know if anyone else have dealt with something similar. I know it's within the nature of anxiety that people think they have all this physical issues but I think I need to atleast be able to rule out other potential physical problems that may be causing this anxiety and no one seems to listen. I go to a doctor, they read anxiety on my chart, and then dismiss everything. How do I get my needs met and have my voice heard?

It sounds like you may need to find a new doctor/doctors. Ones who listen to what youre saying, your concerns, and your theories as to why you could be feeling the way you are....after all..you ARE the one who is experiencing all of these things. Im sure youve voiced this to them, and if they havent listened..yeah...the only advice I can give would be to seek out better doctors. That might be tough, though.

From my experience dealing with doctors when it comes to anxiety issues is ROUGH. I have suffered from anxiety all of my life, and the past 5 or so years with extreme panic and I have just now found a doctor thats worth a damn.

Good luck, and I will definitely send positive thoughts and love your way
