Hello everyone, well here is my story. I am 18, currently in college, but about to drop out due to my lack of performance. Living in georgia, and i really want to explore the world i live on. I have made plans like this before to travel in a van, and even almost got a van. But as i was on my way to buy it the man said his brother sold it. So fate told me i wasnt ready. Now i want to give it another shot, but this time without a van. Just me and the road, it would be nice to go with someone but i dont think i know anyone that would be down. So im posting here to ask you all, for any help, words of wisdom, advice, support, anything that could possibly help me along this trip. I dont know how long i want to travel for but my mind is telling me to just give it a shot and see how i like it. I might possibly want to join a commune and travel with them, that sounds like fun. Anyways, thanks for reading, i have so much i want to say but i dont know how yet, and i dont want to bore you with my blabber. Nice to meet you by the way. Take it easy, and thanks.
Dont plan. Just go. It is the best way I promise. I have travelled and hitchhiked alot and its best if you dont have a plan, it will enable you to take chances and be open to some really amazing experiences. It can be useful to have some names and numbers of communes but travelling people gravitate towards eachother and you will meet people who will be able to show you some great stuff without even having to look for them. Good luck and Have fun!
Agreed...don't make plans just get up and go....Awesome time, I have had great experiences, but van life is the way to go. Currently in SC-GA area getting ready to head west
I'm about to start traveling and I've done a shitload of planning. It's probably better to plan a little than to just walk out the door
