When you see info next to posts here and you see where people are from. If they are from the same area as you do you ever wonder if you have seen them before? Or if you have visited where they are from if you may have met them briefly or passed them at a stoplight? It's weird when I see people post on here from the SF Bay Area or New England I almost want to drop them a line and ask where from. It is just something that I have been thinking about lately. About 2 Years After I Joined This Site, I Was Walking Down The Street, Minding My Own Business, When Some Hoon In A Passing Car Yelled..GLENGLEN.... Cheers Glen.
It is interesting. Sometimes people on here say certain things, and I wonder if it isn't someone I know. Just the possibility is astounding. And sometimes creepy....I post a lot of things on here, and have worried about people knowing it was me, especially b/c of my pictures. Guess I worry about my future political career (yeah right!) lol.
yeah I don't think I'd want people I know coming on this site. I kind of keep you guys a secret because this is my place to escape from the people I know
I wouldn't like having people I know on here either. There are probably a few people around this area, but I never really think about it. I like no one really knowing me on here.
I wish I would have been more creative with a screen name at 14, I wasn't thinking of all the horrible, dirty, depraved things I would post on here.
I hear what your saying Micha. Monday through Friday I work with kids. If anybody I worked with saw some of the stuff I posted about sex or pot I would probably lose my job. I wasn't thinking anything creepy like stalking or your offline friends or anything like that. I was thinking more like standing in line at the bank, or passing the bowl at a show, or having one of those kind of cool one off conversations. Those people you pass on the street that you kind of give a random knowing glance or nod. I took bass lessons once from a player named Kai Eckhardt who Plays with the Jam Band Garaj Mahal and did a couple of albums with John McLaughlin back in the Early 90's. One of our first lessons he asked where he knew me from. It turned out that a month or so earlier he stood behind me in line at a local guitar shop. Anyway, I got off topic. That's OK it's my thread HA HA HA HA! Stay Brown, Rev J
I wouldn't mind people knowing I'm on here whoever they may be. Only way I could lose my job , is if I fire myself. (oh I've considered it!!) (differant subject)In fact it would be fun to meet some people on here,as there are some fun people. Hell, I even recently put my name up and it says Springfield ,Oregon on my thingy,so I suppose someone could get in touch with me if they wanted. But who in the hell would want to?!?!
Off topic for a second, what does that statement say about free speech? Back on topic, there are some people on here I'd like to meet but what are the chances of that?
I know this site has a lot of lurkers, sometimes I wonder if anyone I know personally has been lurking on here because they enjoy the political threads or because they want advice on dreadies or various other reasons and somehow figured out that I am me and are following my posts. Thats unlikely to happen but its possible and I have a feeling I would be embarrassed by some of the things I've said on here.
It just means that the average member of "Straight" society doesn't want a pot smoking sexual deviant around their kids. It's not like I'm irresponsible or a child molester or something like that. But society has brainwashed people into believing that people who smoke pot and have anything but "vanilla" vaginal sex are evil and want to harm their children. It's amazing though that Bob Keeshan used to get stoned when he was doing Captain Kangaroo, Morgan Freeman and Michael Landon were both drunk off their asses when doing The Electric Company and Little House on the Prairie respectively and nobody has made a big deal out of it.
