I'm italian, and I'm a woman... A woman that feels ashamed for her country and for her prime minister. Berlusconi is a despot that has an incredible power over public opinion (he is the owner of 3 important public channels that every day send a lot of news and programs). Do you remember "1984" of George Orwell? Italy is in the same condition!!! Berlusconi shaped people after his way of thinking. For this reason a lot of italians think that is normal if their prime minister pay a young woman for sex (although this girl is underage and this is a crime that is called "incitement of prostitution").
But there are woman that don't agree whit his politic, his words, so they rise against him. Berlusconi hurt every intelligent person (men and women) and he is a dishonor for our history and our culture.

However, I'm hopeful. Italians are strong.. We'll pass this bad moment!! VIVA L'ITALIA

What perplexes me is why Italians keep voting for him, are they crazy!? A bit like Americans re-electing Bush in 2004...

Italy is a member of the EU, which respects human rights. Europe is silent about the incident.
In some Balkan countries leading men are suspected of crime or trafficking in human organs.
Europe is silent about it, too.
If the president of Serbia will not sit at the same table with the man suspected of a crime, all of Europe to rebel.
I guess these are the European, civilized values, I do not know.
