is it true that menopause causes a marked decline in the sexdrive of women? any women who competely lose interest after menopause?
I don't believe there is one set rule for peri-menopause (the second "puberty" before actual menopause) and menopause (after the last period.) regarding sexuality and drive. For myself, personally, my sex drive has increased markedly since the onset of peri menopause. I could do anyone, anytime, anywhere and poor hubby just can't keep up, so we went together and purchased more toys to aid with the situation. I know of many women my age (early 40's) who go through the same thing and it's why they cheat, their needs simply cannot, are not being met by partners. Just as some women's drives rev up, their men decline (for males, it's called andropause) or vice versa. Hopefully both match as is sometimes the case. Others shut down for a period of time then go back to "normal" meaning, whatever was normal for them before the hormones changed. Everyone is different!! The only real consistent thing my girlfriends talk about after full menopause is that they are often dry, no matter how turned on they are but that is what lube is for! Some take hormones to help that too, but they are not without risks. I guess in other words, there are no "rules" for "the change" for anyone! lol
I agree with you ,Coccoina. Also to add--the sex drive of some pick up markedly because of losing the fear of pregnancy. The OLD women I know-I'm talking 60s-70s and beyond still get horny. It's easy to get one slicked up,so dryness is just a matter of--well--you can imagine. And some good news--it's just as good at my age as it was as a teen ager. Yowza.
