How does this not surprise me. Oh because of things like there being dangerous lead levels on Mount Everest because of Industrial China. Everyone is so damn greedy, role model U.S.A.

Read the whole article, it confirms China exports little rice, and most this rice is distributed in China.

    Edited, Silly people

It tells me there is no conspiracy when drinking glasses made in China were found with lead in the plastic & lead in the paint on toys.

Not only do they not care about the health & safety of their international customers, they don't give a shit about the health & safety of their own people. Gee, how loving....

No its not just that. Remember the dog food that poisned a bunch of dogs a few years back. And there was antifreeze substance in something else. China seems to get around the standards we have here for food and other produts as well. And thats not right. Pretty much everything they export is substandard crap. And it is at the cost of american jobs.

The likelihood of any of this rice making it's way to America is virtually zero.
For one it's been identified and for another the US imports virtually no rice from China (4 million dollars worth, I think. Correct me if I'm wrong). The United States is unique as a major exporter of all rice types. If the OP wanted to create more anti-Chinese feeling I think he has succeeded. Way to go, bro.

Could you name a few products over the value of $50 that are "substandard crap"?
If you removed every Chinese product from America you do realise you would not function properly.
From the micro-chip to the dishwasher...
In fairness, I really would like for people like you to have their way and for all Chinese goods to be banned. It would be really interesting.
Actually, lets go further...lets ban ALL imports to the USA and see how you guys get on.

You might note a frustrated and slightly narked tone to my post.
Sorry about that. But crap like this really winds me up. Sorry.

Simple economics at play here. Profits mean more to China than people. They've got plenty of people and losing a few million a year to cancer is just the PRICE OF DOING BUSINESS. So as long as people care more for profit than people this will continue and it will only get worse.

And the Chinese "think" they can do something about it....hahahahahhah..... They're 20 years too late! Once that shit is in the soil, there is no way they're going to get it out! That's the way it is folks. Shit in your food basket and all you have to eat is SHIT! And this case the shit will KILL YOU!

People never learn, and the USA is no better. The fucking FRACKING going on in the midwest is polluting America's ground water big time, causing earthquakes and possibly causing mass die offs of animals (hasn't been proven for sure yet).

BTW, I stopped buy any chinese food products a couple of years ago...

Yes, I bought two electric heaters last year and both of them stunk so bad I had to return them. It wasn't the heater part, it was the plastic case and electronic board that smelled so bad even when it was turned off. I tried airing them out for weeks, and they still stinked. I can't imagine how ppl can sit in a factory all day and breathe those fumes (it must be much worse there).

China is going to have a HUGE problem with cancers all over their country in the next couple of decades. And they'll just let 'em all die...

Good to see you can copypasta, Odon. You're very talented. Of course, if only your copypasta meant anything, I wouldn't have wasted my time reading it. What is your point with this statement? So the US exports brown, white, polished rices. Also "wild rice" which isn't even mentioned in your link, probably because it's not really rice. Do you even know what "wild rice" is?

I long for the day when you actually speak from experience and not from something you looked up...

Yes, the US does import plenty of rice from China. But these days it imports more from Thailand as that is more popular now. But you knew that cause you live in the US, right? And you also realize that Thailand is the world's biggest exporter of rice, Vietnam is #2. The US #3, but that's not what you were implying, was it?

The last I heard, the poor contractors were going to get sued for installing it. Makes no sense at all. Obviously-the makers of the drywall should be sued. That products from China have become suspect, all products they make should be banned. Doesn't surprise me that we'll take no action--the billion Chinese -potential customers of our products, have american capitalists slobbering all over themselves. As long as the money flows--all is good. By the way, that was Chinese toothpaste that killed some people.

Apparently we need to eat more rice, despite the fact we don't even produce 1% of the world's rice harvest, we apparently export more than China, India or Pakistan
    http://www.rice-trade.com/articles/rice-production.html

No really eat more rice America, for the love of god eat something that isn't infused with corn syrup.

I don't think it's fair to call China a toxic waste dump, what about our contaminated eggs from Iowa, or the peanut butter from Georgia last year. Or just last month when Germany had to close down every single farm in the country because of ridiculous levels of dioxin in the feed. Shit happens.
