Scott Walker is the governor Wisconsin and is only a puppet for billionaire David Koch (second richest resident of New York). He is deeply corrupt and needs to be impeached. Right now, he is trying to break up various unions in Wisconsin and also is working with David Koch, who runs a large energy company. Recently a reporter called Scott Walker pretending to be David Koch, and revealed various scams this Governor is involved in. This man needs to be labeled as the corrupt republican he is. Here is a link to the highlights of the phone call, its really disgusting but this is how our politics are run now days. This needs to be exposed. You realize the phone call was a prank right? I mean either way it still shows how hilariously evil Scott Walker is, but someone from the Wisconsin daily beast called in pretending to be Dave Koch, which in fact just makes it even that much more hilarious on top of being evil since Walker thought he was in fact talking to one of the Koch brothers.
Yes, it was a journalist that pretended to be David Koch, but Scott Walker thought he was talking to his buddy, the real David Koch. I makes me so sad seeing people like this in office. I think this country needs a revolution like Egypt and Libya.
I heard the governor talking strategy with a supposed contributor and on a couple occasions disagreed on strategy with the caller. We are being fed excerpts from a conversation fitted into a running narrative that does not present the conversation in whole context. I think the story is purely sensational and, just not that damning in the scheme of things. It is political hype as political maneuvering is always seeking to shape the battlefield.
No, we don't, I hate when this comparison is used. They're fighting to overthrow 40 years of dictatorial rule in the face of having fighter jets and attack helicopters opening indiscriminate fire on them, Wisconsin is fighting to show a popularly elected governor who had 52% of the vote doesn't have a mandate to do whatever he wants.
I lived in Wisconsin/ Minnesota throughout my entire first 18 years of my life and have been following this Scott Walker's corruption for some time. I may be alittle more excited about this than others, and have been waiting for more exposure to arise about this crooked bastard. This issue in itself is insignificant, but just gives some insights into how politics are run in this country. I agree that this is just a small issue of our government, and I didn't mean that we needed a revolution because of this issue in Wisconsin. We need a revolution because of the wars, corrupt legal systems, exploitation, and murders that our government is involved in. Although the United States is not a dictatorship, it does have many similarities. We have a choice between two people instead of one. These two party choices arn't all too different either. Obama is the lesser of the two evils, but still conforms to the same political system as all of our presidents. Names changes, looks change, parties change, but our government at it's core remains unchanged. I don't feel represented in this country and I am sure that many others feel the same way. This country is supposedly run by the people, but in reality is not. The only way people who can change this are the citizens because the government sure isn't going to revolutionize itself. The people in power enjoy their power and will do horrible things to remain in power. And of course I don't mean we need to revolt in the same manner as in the middle east because the two situations are very different. But I do believe that our government needs a complete overhaul and change that could only happen through some type of revolution.
Walker 52.3% - has no mandate? Obama 52.9% - has a mandate? Democracy minus the Constitution equals Majority rules. In the words of Obama, Walker should just say "I won, get over it."
From what I have heard some who voted for him are now protesting against him. That does not surprise me if significant parts of his rather radical agenda where well not really publicised before the election. You think or you would hope that those on the libertarian right would be at least a little concerned about a power grab by the executive in that state. The first hoped for domino to full. The megalomania of Reagan seems to be well and truly rubbing off onto his most devoted followers. Maybe he would like a 15 billion dollar floating country named after himself in 30 years.
Government is an idea and the agreement to cultivate that idea. As long as the populace looks for solutions in government, government maintains controlling interest. Learn self sufficiency, govern yourself, leave the dead to bury the dead.
If the goverment is the people then that would be fine with me. Government is an idea, true, and the idea was for the population to protect itself against bullies. I see the relevence this idea has to the situation in Wisconsin. But you have the equation split into the classic conflict of government vs the individual - a la Mill et al - I think you're behind the times! The biggest player on the scene these days is the corporation. How free of their influence are you? How free is government of their influence? My contention is that the government-is-bad argument, as first popularized in modern times by Reagan and carried on these days primarily by libertarians/teabaggers/corporatists, has resulted in the rise to pre-eminence of the idea that freedom is the absence of government while reality continues to show that, more than anything, it brings about an increasing amount of corporate control. On the one hand I think the approach of turning your back on the ridiculousness of modern society is a fine way to go about things... to a degree I'm playing the devil's advocate here... but I'd like to hear a reasoned argument rather than little slogans like leave the dead to bury to bury the dead (don't you have something better than that?) for why the further deterioration of government will bring about increased freedom rather than increased corporate control. A case in point, seeing as where these posts are located, is an explanation for how the union busting in Wisconsin is likely to lead to an increase of freedom. What's the case?
