Over the past six months I have consumed poppy seed tea about 8-12 times. This works out to be about 15-20lbs of poppy seeds. After straining the seeds I need a place to dump them. I chose the corner of my backyard by a tree. Thinking the seeds would become part of the earth after the snow melted i carelessly dumped all the seeds into this corner. Last week there was heavy rainfall. I woke up and looked out of my back window. The first thing I noticed was a MOUND of poppy seeds. I must have dumped them in the exact same spot every time. I laughed then brought a shovel outside to disperse the seeds across the ground and pack them into the earth. When I stepped out of my front door that morning I also noticed a small mound on my neighbors lawn which i dumped there that has been revealed by the rain. I now place the seeds in a heavy duty garbage bag and let the garbage man take it away! Thankfully I got to the mound in the backyard before my parents noticed because it stood out to me like a dinosaur in my backyard.

Good GAWD man, how many pods do you use in one round of tea? That's a fuckton of seeds :)

I too have quite the seed stash. Probably enough to plant several football fields' worth of pods. Unfortunately, I live in an apartment in a big city and have shitty sun exposure. Still gonna try to grow a few this spring tho :)

I actually use bulk seeds, about 2-2.5lbs per dose. Wouldn't a football field of poppies be a beautiful site? I'm hoping that some decide to grow where they've been stashed, even though they've been 'winterized.' The way I look at it is there are literally MILLIONS of seeds that were buried in snow for a couple months. If you were to bury millions of humans in the snow for a couple months, I'm sure a few would survive. I have tried growing poppies indoor before, i could never get them strong enough to grow past the small sprout stage. Good luck with your growing!

Which season were they scattered in the garden?! If there was snow than there may be hope for mine!
