Whenever I'm tripping my mind feels most at ease or comfortable with listening to repetitive flowing Dubstep or electronic tracks. Things with real instruments such as guitar, clashy symbols/drums, and clear vocals is overwhelming for me and my mind gets all fucked. But Dubstep fucks my mind in a good way and every song seems like it was manufactured for tripping on LSD. One song in particular that has a flow to it but also fits into the genre is Jahova by Rusko. Does anyone else have feelings similar to this? Or do I just feel this way because Dubstep is a genre of music I really enjoy?

"Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" was very weirder when tripping on Salvia.

I find it depends what I'm on. Actually, I prefer more "organic" but chill sounding stuff on LSD and more electronica on 2c-i or 2c-e. Obviously, Shpongle is the top choice for 4-aco-dmt.

I couldn't recognize sounds on Salvia. I had a hard time processing silence. I can't even imagine what kind of hellish cacophony music would be like on Salvia...

Psychedelic therapy will help mankind become what he is meant to be. Musicians gaining knowledge on how to space out their listeners with it is only begining.

I actually enjoyed dubstep my last time tripping. I was surprised because I usually don't like it sober. It's not so much the music I don't like but more how people act towards it. So many of my friends think it's the best music ever made. It really irritates me. I find a lot of dubstep boring and lacking creativity. Not all of it, but a lot of it. So when I hear people talking about how amazing it is and asking how can I not love this stuff, it annoys me. But yeah while tripping the other day I was actually enjoying it so I guess I'm inclined to agree with you, though I would still prefer to listen to real music.

dubstep is too simple and repetitive for me to trip on . . . and i just dont get the bass fetish. ditto for most electronica and house. the psytrance groups are much better, at least they incorporate real instruments and things like tribal chants. Shpongle, Shulman, Entheogen, etc.

I like the music to challenge me usually, or at least give me a variety of wonders, hence my love for progressive rock.

Dubstep I feel represents some of the internal dynamics that are going on in your head. If you ever hit nitrous oxide the sounds it makes are very similar to dubstep. And if you hit nitrous while listening to dubstep it increases the effects of the nitrous a lot.

It depends on what dubstep you listen to also. Some dubstep has a violent death metal feel to it, and some of has a more a deep rhythmic meditative feel to it. If you look up Mimosa - "The Psychedelic Stero", it defiantly has some mind expanding bass beats great for tripping on. Also there are tracks like Flux Pavilion's "Gold Dust Remix", where the way the bass sounds literally uplifts you into extremely energetic euphoric states.

Tripping is probably better for dubstep though then dubstep is for tripping. Going to a dubstep show is pretty awesome on acid, but if you are trying to flow out into the cosmos at home you may want some different tunes. There is nothing like some of the more organic jungley shpongle tracks while tripping, really brings you to your roots. Idk I love it and can't get enough it, don't know if that is good or bad.

There is way too much quality drum n bass/jungle, breakbeats, and trip hop to waste my time filtering through 90% of the shitty ass dubstep to dig out a few gems.

Its a fucking terrible genre and a disgrace to the rave culture and scene. If your first experience in a rave atmosphere was dubstep I truly feel for you.

i like the music to challenge me too like Mr. Writer said, but i definitely have the bass fetish :D

    dont like dubstep tho.
my friend and i joke that dubstep isnt a genre... its a song. cuz its all sounds the same. haha

i love the organic feel of real instruments, but electronic noises just tickle my brain so well. i find too that electronic music in general has broader range of emotions and styles.

edited: the only electronic style that isnt better imo while tripping is IDM.

I like dubstep because it puts me in a trance.

I like dnb because it puts me on a hype.

I like liquid because is soothes my soul.

I don't like (most) trance because it's all just trying too hard to be trippy.

House just sucks but it's got a few gems.

    Minimal. Fuck minimal.

I've tripped on Salvia once and apparently it was fairly strong stuff because I left reality pretty much completely and everything became connected and I was incoherent. There was music playing but I don't remember what it was because my mind was so far removed from reality. It really was not an enjoyable trip. But since salvia weirds your mind out so much I can definitely see how "Lucy in the sky.." or any other song would be definitely much weirder (on a lower dose than what I've experienced.)

A lot of dubstep is way too hardcore/dark/crazy for me to listen to on acid and I agree with some people, there is SO much uncreative dubstep music out there. Other than mind massaging electronic stuff I love anything that is happy or emotional. I listened to Mumford and Sons the last time I tripped and it was glorious.

The first time I tripped, dubstep was mainly playing so maybe that's why I have such a deep connection to the stuff when it comes to tripping. I also heard "Gamma Ray" by Beck and it was great.

There's a lot of good music of many genres for many kinds of tripping. Try some hendrix or something, shit's amazing.

I would say that the "moar ghosts n whatever" video is quite amazing for tripping.... all of deadmau5 or skrillex, for that matter, is too.

But no, I can listen to a lot while tripping, just not annoying ass screamo shit.

If I want some bass when I'm tripping, then I listen to something like this:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JyS-8C0vdzI"]YouTube - Lost Souls - Disc 1 - 13. Homie - Tortured Mind

    Or this:

i've never listened to dubstep while tripping, and i can't really imagine wanting to. i think it's funny that dubstep has blown up so big. now it's like everyone and their grandmother listens to dubstep. but i just really don't see the attraction. dubstep shows get boring after like an hour because there is so little room for artistic expression within the genre that you really can't even develop a show. it just gets way too repetitive. this is seriously like the easiest music ever to make. i've also been to raves where all that was played was dubstep and by the next morning my head hurt from having dubstep blasted in my ear all night, and not in a good way.

the only electronic artists that i would trip to, are crystal castles, deadmau5, sts9, and lotus. maybe some trance too.

^ That's my issue with electronic music. Anyone with a computer can make it. Obviously not saying there isn't good electronic music, just that there seems to be an unproportional (is that a word?) amount of bad electronic music. I have friends who like literally anything if it's electronic. Some of the stuff they put on last time I tripped with them disgusted me it was so bad. I didn't say anything because I didn't want to be rude but I couldn't stand it.

Same goes with shows. I have a hard time enjoying myself at electronic shows, especially if it's just one guy on his laptop. Where's the talent in playing prerecorded songs on a stage? I get bored within twenty minutes. Especially dubstep, it's such a limited genre. Again I'm not hating on all dubstep or electronic music. Just a lot of the shit that is out there that everyone seems to think is the best shit ever.

    Sorry, rant over.
