Anyone else find the people's riots/revolution in the middle east/north africa ridiculously exciting? This could be the start of a new face of the middle east. This could change the world as we know it it and it's happening NOW. South Korea has launched balloons telling North Koreans of the riots and they have started to demonstrate as well. It's horrible and there's thousands of people dieing per day but god damn this needed to happen. This could even be the end of dictators as we know them. We could be telling our children and grandchildren about the great revolution of 2011 in years to come. Am I the only one who's fucking amazed by this?
It's bittersweet. It's shitty that people have to die for change to happen, but at least change IS happening.
Yes I am amazed...I wanna see that in the USA. I am not happy about the violence, but revolution in this world does seem to be possible without bloodshed. The powers that be love that shit too, not the revolution, but the violence. Fuck the government.
Not all revolutions turn out to be for the greater good of the ppl no matter how just they seem at the time. All in there just another power struggle.
Like those green and orange CIA "revolutions" http://leopolis.blogspot.com/2004/12/pundits-cia-money-and-orange.html http://politicalleft.blog-city.com/iran_another_cia_concocted_color_revolution.htm
Yes it's absolutely AMAZING to me ! What's even more amazing is this was started as an Internet revolution . It shows the power of the Internet as a tool for free speech . It must remain free and unbiased . It also shows me how small and connected our global village is becoming . What are the effects culturally on some of these less developed , tribal or Islamic countries of the world ? My guess is it can't be all good . Being bombarded daily with the western influence simply must be eroding some of their cultures . I can remember when computers first hit the market . I bought an old commodore 64 , because an engineer friend , who worked for one of the intelligence agencies told me that they were going to change the world . I told him he was crazy . Boy, was I wrong ! It's an exciting time to be alive that's for sure . And I love this site because it has all age ranges . From old to young . I think it's wonderful so many young people are so engaged and intelligent about the events and facts of the world we live in .
"But the critical moment came on the evening of 30 January when, it is now clear, Mubarak ordered the Egyptian Third Army to crush the demonstrators in Tahrir Square with their tanks after flying F-16 fighter bombers at low level over the protesters. Many of the senior tank commanders could be seen tearing off their headsets – over which they had received the fatal orders – to use their mobile phones. They were, it now transpires, calling their own military families for advice. Fathers who had spent their lives serving the Egyptian army told their sons to disobey, that they must never kill their own people." http://www.independent.co.uk/opinio...rak-clings-on-what-now-for-egypt-2211287.html The power in the Middle East (and most nations) lies with the military. The Egyptian Military is tied very closey to the US (we have trained most of them). The problem with democracy in the Middle East (and most of the rest of the world) is a lack of history of democracy. Most of the great studies/discussions/books of democracy are not even available in Arabic. Historically it has been the military who overthrows rulers when the people really push for it (usually so the Military Leaders survive an uprising) and the military then installs a new leader more liking to the people. Gadaffi has brought in outside military people to fight for him. This could really destabilize the whole region. The oil fields of Lybia are a prize waiting for someone to control.
The article is garbage. I say this because it makes this claim, Lebanon.... was being bombed indiscriminately by the Israeli Air Force. Air forces do not bomb indiscriminately, they bomb targets.
Attention, those revolutions are instrumentd by the secret services like CIA and Mossad! You better read what I linked even if reading is more and more difficult in our times! http://www.globalresearch.ca/index.p...xt=va&aid=3882
Your writing is entirely garbage because the rest of my linked article has to be proven wrong yet. The old technique of desinformants of picking on the weakest argument and ignoring the rest doesnt work here, man. http://www.globalresearch.ca/index.php?context=va&aid=22736
Excuse me. I don't have a bone to pick on the subject of US hegemony. I do have a bone to pick about articles that use sensational and inaccurate language to manufacture a certain sentiment. Further the idea that Lebanon is the key or linchpin to an american program of destabilization is not proving to be the case, or hasn't been instrumental in the overall situation we are seeing right now. What we are seeing right is not the result of a US plot. What we are seeing right now is the result of the power of indigenous information and communication that is far in excess of any influence the US may have in this situation.
Of course the CIA and others do EVERYTHING to influence the developpements there, it would be naive to think that they let go there without doing anything.
No doubt they climb on to opportunities that seem to promote their purposes. However they are not the motivators and I think it is a mistake to regard their programs as coherent or competent in shaping world events. I think it gives them power and respect that they do not deserve. I think you should tell the Egyptians that their revolution is a CIA plot.
Jesus Christ! It's like whenever anything happens in this world someone has to play 7 degrees of Kevin Bacon to see how the CIA ties into everything For once could you possibly realize the PEOPLE are the ones that are making these changes not the CIA
they dont have enough water over there, like its so fucking hot there. and they only have a limited amount of water there For the Middle East, water has always been a politically sensitive issue. iraq hardly has any water, thats why they are crazy as hell. ahahaha you need waterrrr. yeh need greeeeen
Tunisia just installed their new prime minister chosen by the interim President. He's from the old office but he seems legit. Ridiculous eh? The internet has really changed the global landscape, some for the better but certainly some for the worse as well. I don't even know what to say to this....
People retaking control of their governments and lives makes me emotional and very excited/euphoric. I can't wait for it to happen in this country. Hopefully we can avoid destroying the honorable roots of our government, and simply get rid of the traitors who use it to their own ends. I don't want to burn the capital, just the pigpen.
This is an interesting article about power, funny but still informative. http://www.cracked.com/article_18777_5-scientific-reasons-powerful-people-will-always-suck.html The key to good government is accountability to and from the people.
