Fuzzy to get fixed today, but unfortunately when I got out of work last night I smoked, ate, and went to sleep forgetting to lock him up in my room so he couldn't eat after twelve so I had to cancel the appointment...

Agreed, I'm pissed because I don't know when I am going to be able to take him again because I don't know what my work schedule looks like yet and I also might not have the cash to do it. It could be another two weeks before I am able to take him again. I'm so pissed at myself but at the same time I'll admit I am a little bit happy I have to wait because I feel guilty taking my cat to pay someone to dismantle his man parts. :(

    Maybe it was karma.

I did not forget to take my cat's food away after midnight, so no cancelation.
But a seriously ripped up hand. She did not want to be put in her crate, and my bloody hands have paid the price.

She's probably under now, but hopefully when your turn does come, it will be a much more mellow experience for you.

I'm sorry to hear you had troubles transporting your kitty. Fuzzy is a pretty mellow cat so I'll just have him sit on my lap for the duration of the ride and put him in the crate right before I bring him in. He has gone on rides in the past and seems to enjoy it, he mostly just sits on my lap and purrs :).

I really do feel bad getting him fixed but I don't want him spraying and I really don't want him to knock up one of our other cats. We have one un-spayed female and it's a hell of a lot cheaper to get a male cat fixed than a female cat.

It's actually not fair to keep a female who hasn't been spayed unless you're going to let her breed. It's also not advisable to let her breed unless you're experienced and can follow her line back past her great-grandparents. Female cats can call as often as every 2-3 weeks and for a week at a time. Queens who are bred to breed are mated as soon as they are physically mature enough to give birth (at around 12 months) since it's not fair to let them wait longer, and are spayed and petted-out at the end of their breeding life at a few years old. Females should be spayed at around 4 months, they can start calling at around 5.

A male cat will be randy and spray which is horrible. But it's far more important to spay a female cat. Get her fixed!

Fuzzy sounds lovely though :) My cat ate very little before he went under. Someone in my house forgot and fed him! I explained to the vet that he'd had a little to eat and as it wasn't lots of food, he still went under. He was fine. They expected him to be a little sick when he came round but he wasn't.
