Need Advice, going 2 days without pills first time in 20 years

Long story short my wife stole some of my hydrocodone. I have just weaned my self down from 5x10mg a day to 3 per day but I am still going to run out 2 day before the refill.


I am terrified. In 20 years of taking these for a botched operation on my nuts (seriously) I have never missed a pill. I've never abused them, always take my 5 per day as directed. I am not going to ask my doc for more as he will become suspicious.

I ordered some pods from a place with a good rep. I have a bunch of tramadol, , and neurotin.

What am I in for with these two days without hydrocodone? I am already planning on not working. How bad is it going to be ?

 

Hey man you should be ok with the klonopin and tramadol those will make your withdraws mild. im currently trying to break a 20 norco a day habit. you will have to expect some body pains especially in the legs and back, diarea and headaches. along with depression, and trouble sleeping but the klonopin should help with that. if I were you I would take what you have and spread them out till you get your refill. so your withdraws arent too bad. the withdraws will start between 12-18 hours but the tramadol works pretty well for withdraw but you will more than likely still feel shitty. you arent taking to much a day so that is a good thing, you pry will not need to take day one off work but maybe day 2 depending how your feeling. just remember its only a couple days and all will be better once you get your refill. good luck ive been through this before so if you have any questions I did not cover feel free to ask. good luck.

 

Would it be possible to ween yourself down to 2 a day as opposed to 3, would that help you make it to your refill day? Or break your remaining tablets in half, I know it's not the same dose but at least you'll have something in your system.

 

30Mg hydro isnt all that much. Also its only 2 days so it shouldnt be too bad. Youve got tramadol and kpins. Tramadol is an opiate so it should help stave off any withdrawls. And benzos will help with the psychological effects of WD. Taking ibuprofen and naproxen should help with any body aches and loperamide will prevent the diahrea.
It wont be fun but honestly you will be fine. Ive made it through WD from 160mg oxycodone per day, and that was cold turkey. Same with about a 3/4gram of heroin per day.

Bingo! Great advice here. At your level of intake, take your remaining pills, add them all up by MGs, then divide that by number of days left till refill. It should definately be enough to keep you out of withdrawals. I did that several times on a 200mg/day habit, basically cutting my intake in half, but it kept me out of withdrawals, at least the bad stuff.

 

Yeah, 30mg per day is a pretty low dose, your withdrawl probably wouldn't amount to much anyway, and 2 days isn't that long. But the tramadol, though weak, should get you through it with no problem. I take about 100mg per day which is a different story. The last time I ran short between prescriptions I used the otc anti-diarrheal drug Imodium AD to help me through it. I took 6 of them per day, which amounts to 12mg of Loperamide. It's by no means a cure-all for withdrawal, but it sure helped.

 

Thanks all, I think the anxiety of the unknown is worse than anything. ' Preciate that folks took the time to help. Off to buy some Immodium AD, forgot about that one. I'm down to 2.5 per day, doubt I can go any further and keep working. Looks like I'll be 36 hrs max without. May try to work it to where the last 12 hrs are in deep sleep. I didn't mention earlier that had one schizo episode where I smoked too much weed several years ago and forgot who I was for a week, very odd but at the time I forgot to take my hydros and to this day I feel that precipitated the whole psychosis. Luckily now I am preparred and have someone watching me. And you guys sharing your experience really helps.

 

I doubt very seriously, in fact I'm sure that whatever episode you had while smoking weed doesn't involve forgetting to take hydrocodone. I doubt that it even involves weed. I've never heard of a reaction like that to weed.

 

A huge part in getting through stuff like this is your thought process. When you take a half pill or whatever, in your head tell yourself you took a full one. Tell yourself you can feel it working and you feel better. Just reinforce everything in your thoughts with positivity. Obviously this only works to a certain extent. But with only a 2 day period, and only 30mg a day prior to it, this shouldnt be very difficult. Its gonna be alot easier since you atleast have some pills left, thats gonna make things alot easier.

Tramadol is somewhat chemically similar to Hydro, as is Immodium. If you find yourself withdrawing take 100mg Tramadol and then should make it go away.
