Another thing you didn't know about The Rev. I am also a published music critic. It's really easy and you can go to shows for free............. Find your local music/culture paper and send them an interest in writing for them. I have gotten a couple of things published. About the only things it payed was free shows but it is also a way of building up a portfolio. Stay Brown, Rev J
That sounds really cool! I think I'm definitely either going to go into holistic health and herbalism or journalism, so I want to write more for my school's paper and stuff to decide if journalism is really what I want to do... Do you think they would even let a 16 year old do it though? :sombrero:
HappyVegan - if you are professional and skillful, and as long as your terms of employment do not violate child labor laws in your country, I do not think that anybody could care. Also! Don't forget that you can buy your own domain name (usually like $10/y), and set up a free blog through Blogger or Wordpress. You can write about holistic health and herbalism - and you can make money by recommending affiliate products or by selling ad space. You can technically make money writing about any passion - as long as you target your readers well! I started my own midwest psychedelic music blog - I am not a music journalist but I still enjoy sharing the news about upcoming shows! I am able to support my local music scene while connecting interested listeners with great bands. I'd imagine that in a year or so, I could probably monetize the website, but it's a hobby so I probably won't. If you started a successful music blog, I'm sure that it would help future employers take your dedication seriously!
It's pretty awesome. Keep in mind that you would be a federal employee, which means you'd always have to be on top of your shit. The job is pretty chill, but sometimes you have to crack down and not smoke for a week or so while you're getting some important work done. Also it's extremely hard getting in to. i worked 3 1/2 years at getting into this. Over 3 years of internships (which were awesome!!!) making about $20 bucks a day. I love my life with where I'm at right now. Yay Forest Service!
Invisible- what's your blog's address? I would love to read it! I just started up a blog for baked goods here: http://themarmalademonster.blogspot.com/ It's still getting started... and I need to post more, but I definitely am going to bring in health and herbal things to post about, and other issues about the environment, animals, and health John- Don't you have to take on the same vows as cops do? Or was the a different job... It sounds like a lot of fun...I would love to work outside!
John sounds like he may have the best job in the world. You should start a blog too, brother! HappyVegan - www.fungalbloom.com is my website. I'm bookmarking yours, because we are total foodies around my house. Those crispies are making my mouth water.
Invisable- I love the name I think I followed yours...if not, I definitely tried to XP I'll just add it to my bookmarks Heheh, my friends all liked them a lot...and thanks! I need to post more though...
personally im a fire spinner/flow artist... i teach people how to flow and to bring out their full potential! very empowering! i busk and perform at shows~! i also own a paintball course! I'll never work for anyone else!
Animal trainer , Veterinarian , Landscaper , Park Ranger , Social worker , Soup kitchen Supervisor , Day Care Worker. I myself have retired from the music thing after 26 years , and have also worked with old folks and animals......I think we hippies are drawn to those things that allow our souls to connect to love and nature.
Something creative, like an actor/actress, or a singer/musician, I am a poet and a lyricist, or spiritual, like me: I read runes and angel cards and also contact ghosts, you could do that for a living, or even a politician campaigning for people's and animals' rights- whatever makes you feel like you made the world a little better. Peace out, dude
Architect. As long as you're designing eco-villages and beautiful australian bush houses. Designing office towers is yuck.
I'm a preschool teacher. My job allows me to be creative, with music and art. I try to show the children its ok to express your emotions. and to teach them that learning is about dealing with life, life skills, it is taking right action. This can be taught to preschoolers by taking about feelings, sharing, giving hugs. And most imporantly showing uncondtional love to all people.
I run this one through my head often but i cant figure out what id make and sell but...it goes like this. Something like jewlery or other craft that you don't need a brick and morter store to make and sell out of. Put an awing on the camper and you can sit under that and make your wares and have display cases set up. Tools, materials and cases could be stored in the topper. Basically you would just pull in somewhere you could park without getting in trouble and set up shop, maybe follow an event? to get your customer base..or sell at streetfairs.. You could fix up a schoolbus instead of a trailer and have the back part as storage/small workspace. That would probobly work better as you could build it specific to your needs..
