yup im done with it.i got baked and had a pretty bad car accident.spaced out and ran a stop sign.t boned another pickup.my head went through the door glass.spun my truck around 90 degrees.ripped the plow off my truck.

i know dont blame the weed, blah blah blah.but no more for me.i was for legalization butnotsosure now.i think if it was to be legalized i do think it should be treated like alcohol as far as driving goes anyways.

ill post pics of the truck tomorrow sometime if i get to see it.im hurtin but ok.between the morpine and percoset im feelin pretty good right now atleast.

Yeah I agree weed should be treated like alcohol in terms of DUI and what have you. Also I have to say I agree with you quitting; if you're the type to smoke up and drive you probably shouldn't be smoking up. :(

Its understandable that a shock like that would make you want to quit.

well, i hope you feel better. i do think that more people, especially people who smoke should encourage their friend to not smoke and drive. and we all have to be honest with ourselves.

of course, you cant expect sober people to drive right either, so its just another random risk in life.

kinda got lucky though.had a few grams of weed on me.was smart enough to dump it down the sewer before anybody showed up.so no weed on me.

my friend who let me use the truck was in the hospital room when the doctor said it was possible that i may have had another siezure so he thinks it was a siezure.and i want to keep it that way

Because you can't properly assess your mental state to drive at a given time doesn't mean anything about other people, or about their right to use a certain plant. Sounds to me like you're suggesting that I shouldn't have the full right to my dopamine receptors because you suck at driving.

People space out high or sober. Some people space out more one way or the other. Whichever type you are, you need to have the good sense and self control not to space out while driving, wether this means you can't drive high, can't drive sober, or for that matter, can't drive at all.

Um having a 'random' seizure while driving can have serious repercussions..
In my state, I'm pretty sure if you have unpredictable epilepsy, they can revoke your license for 6 months from the date of your last seizure..

Don't use a legit medical reason as an excuse..

    This is true, for sure.

The weed is not at fault, you are at fault. So don't blame the weed. "I spaced out" is all you need to say.

Sounds like you'd rather blame the weed than yourself, is the general point of this thread. Cause a car crash, make a thread about how you're done with weed and it should be illegal. Classy.

a woman had a seizure here, flipped her suv and landed on a family of five. wasnt too long ago a truck blew a tire, it went up and over, and killed a woman headed the other direction, her husband was driving behind her, and saw it all happen.

risks are everywhere. what i see IS a problem is that people are not practicing an awareness of self. YOU have to know when YOU are comfortable with the risk of driving, im 25, and still scared. i know how to drive, but i know if i have my license i will end up driving, as terrified as i am. there is a definite complacency among pot smokers about driving while high. i just think we should make sure we (each other) are aware of that. i mean, if your best buddy is totally toasted, and he tries to drive, that could be the last time you see him. im not saying confiscate keys, but you'd offer them some water or something, wouldnt you? keep them around a minute so they are a little more ready to drive when they leave?
my mom explained something to me when we were visiting family in the south. deep south. even if they leave in a snit, middle of a fight, they always say "i love you" because you never know if its the last time you'll see them. even if you are a high functioning pothead, have you still had times when you would have said "nah, i shouldnt drive"? and at what point did you learn that threshold? its just risk management, but most people dont do that anyway, so i dont know what i expect.

So- what you are saying is that because you demonstrated piss poor judgment you are now gravitating toward continued prohibition for everyone else? Bad, bad form. I'd be supportive of you taking an extended break- perhaps permanent but to in effect project your own lack of self control and disrespect for other peoples property on everyone else is an extension of the same character glitch that enabled you to drive someone else's vehicle when you had smoked yourself into oblivion shows that you really haven't learned the lesson you could have from all this.

Does this mean that if you have a few drinks then subsequently get a DUI you'll be in favor of re-instating prohibition?

    0 sympathy from me.
