I have decided to go through my own route and get a doctors prescription for my personal opiate use. I have practicing mixed martial arts for over 5 years now, so one can only imagine the trauma that has been pounded on my back. I don't wish to spend thousands of dollars through doctors visits, MRI's, and various other expenses. I was wondering if the fellow users on this forum could help point out a health care plan that they like, that may be suitable for me. If the healthcare route isn't the best bet, I suppose I will deal with my loses and pay in full. -X
you should probably speak with your sensei, they can probably direct you to oriental medical, acupuncture, more exercise.... Drugs are not a cure..
Not all of us believe that Eastern Medicine is superior to Western Medicine. There is absolutely NO evidence that it IS superior. I'm tempted to say there is far more evidence in favor of modern Western Medicine (even though it is used just as much in 'the east') being more effective. But, I don't want to get into a flame war on this poor OP's thread, so I'll abstain peacefully.
As a former player in Brazilian Ju Jitzu as well as boxing- I totally understand where you are coming from. If you are paying the insurance out of pocket- your not in the best position. The most cost effective option available to you is to get the least expensive painkillers. Cheaper is not always bad. In your situation I would look to get generic roxys instead of Oxycontin or Opana. Vicoden is significantly cheaper than Percocets. And finally- have Costco fill the script. A comparison between Costco and Walgreens on 120 10/660 generic vicodens- Costco is always less than $30 and Walgreens is between $85-$90. My guess is generic roxys will have similar savings. One problem u might have will be with your pain Mgmt dr. Oxy's are designed for 8-12 hours. If u explain your financial situation and run your own opiate time released Mgmt system (cut a 30mg roxy in quarters and take them every 90 to 120 minutes, whatever. Good luck
