fear is no stranger in my dreams, id venture to say 95% of my dreams have something in it that scares me so bad i wake up. the most common theme in my dreams are ghosts and zombies. i dont know why but thats what they are usually about. i kind of dont mind anymore because it always gives me new ideas for scary short storys but i want to know why i always dream about that. during the day i rarely ever think about zombies or ghosts and i have only seen a few ghost/zombie movies in my life. one thing iv picked out of it is that i dont like loud metallic sounds (iv known that for a while) because thats usually something along with the ghosts. but in the zombie dreams its always me trying to run away or survive in these extremely elaborate old building complexes. im confused...

    No clue, man.

I barely have dreams that truly scare me because I don't really believe in nightmares. I look at every dream like I look at movies: I know they are a fabrication and if it is a scary movie I know that there are creative minds that put it together to create so it never really gets to me. I guess by breaking that fourth wall it takes some of the venom out.

Perhaps you put too much weight into the concept of nightmares.

Don't get me wrong, I have a couple zombie dreams a month. As creepy as they are I always wake up thinking, "Cool. That was an awesome story."

Fear in your everyday life definitely plays out in dreams. I know that when I'm nervous about something or I'm thinking of something that I'm afraid of during the day, I'm more likely to have an awful nightmare that night.

You should keep a dream journal and use the entries of the dreams alongside a regular journal and find the similarities...its uncanny how your daily life effects that stuff.
