suggestions on pet tarantula names....

Hi there, I'm thinking of getting my self a pet tarantula, I have to wait til' next Thursday because the pet store isn't holding any now. I am very excited. Anyone have any name suggestions oh what I can name it? I would really appreciate your opinions!
I would like something dark and mysterious.

back in the summer of 1979 here in san antonio, texas, there was a "tarantaula invasion" of the city.
people were killing them right and left because, they thought the tarantulas were poisonous... they were not.
i got bit a couple of times and, it did hurt to no end though.

one time i went to the laundromat and threw my clothes in the washing machine, only to have a million tarantulas, make a get away out of the washing machine to avoid getting a bath.


during that summer, i took to using non-toxic paint on the tarantulas, to write names on them.
i did write a few "unusal" names on some of them.
the names i do remember off the top of my head are: popcorn, (she was a real sweetheart) gogo, nemesis, junko and, scavy.
there were a few other names but, i don't remember them after 30 years. oh, yeah, there was xiu.
xiu was a biology major and friend i made in college. i named one of the tarantulas after her.

Yea they are venomess but won't kill a human, stupid people aren't informed right.

I would've suggested Terry the Tarantula, but that sounds silly, doesn't it?

They are really not that mean of creatures in my experience, they seem kind of shy and curious but I've never had one as a pet.

 

If I was walking down the street and saw someone smash a tarantula, I'd probably flip shit and start yelling and gesticulating at them

I never named mine anything permanent. The cool thing is you can change names all the time with those things and they wont give a damn.

What I like to do with my ''killer'' animals is call them something really innocent and humiliating (even though they dont know they are being humiliated).

I have a python I like to call Mr. Poop and Once had a scorpion called Mr. Bum-bum. I dont think I ever actually named my tarantula...

On that note - what kind of tarantula are you planning to get? A rosie I'm guessing since its your first one?
