Is the Medicine Buddha an aspect of Shakyamuni Buddha or a separate Buddha altogether. Also, could someone spell this mantra out phonetically for me please. I want to make sure I'm pronouncing it properly. Om Bekandze Bekandze / Maha Bekandze Razda / Samungate Soha. I have also seen: Om Bekhajye Bekhajye / Maha Bekhajye Bekhajye / Samudgate Svaha. He is a Bodhisattva who made 12 great vows. He became a Buddha and became known as Bhaiṣajyaguru, or Medicine Buddha. For the mantra, I use Tayata Om Bekandze Bekandze Maha Bekandze Razda Samudgate Svaha. Tay-ata Om Bek-and-ze Bek-and-ze Maha Bek-and-ze Radza Samudgate Svaha For mantras, it doesn't matter which variation or dialect you use as long as sits right, and is meaningful for you.
In Sanskrit, the mantra is: Oṃ bhaiṣajye bhaiṣajye mahābhaiṣajya-samudgate svāhā. If you are going to use the Tibetan pronunciation "bekandze" for bhaiṣajye then you should also use the Tibetan pronunciation of "soha" instead of svaha.

All Buddhist deities include in their iconography the entire range of Buddha's life. They just have various Buddha or unqualifiable and unquantifieble aspects. Just as also the elements are also Buddhas because they blemd form with formlessness.
