My other reason- I smoke it because the fact that it helps me to sleep and relax, also in turn helps me to achieve a healthy balance in my life where I am physically in good shape. I then eat better and this all helps to keep me sane, or stop me being depressed and slightly temperamental. It helps me to maintain a healthy balance between mind, body and spirit if you like. I get frustrated when I am not only in a poor physical state, but the reasons why I am like this add to the frustration, specifically the illegality and lack of availablility of quality cannabis and the prevalence of noise pollution.

It makes me feel a part of everything. If I'm watching a movie by myself I get that "big cinema filled with people" feeling. Whatever you do while high you're more involved. I also like my thoughts while high. It truly is the drug of philosophers. You think about great things and just don't do them, ultimately happy whilst laying-out the blueprints for your next world-changing plot in your head.

Makes the days just a little more enjoyable. I like burning in the morning, and even hours after the high is gone the nice mellow buzz of a body previously stoned is great for enjoying daily mundane life a little more. Taking the bus, lectures and reading. I have found it occasionally helps me understand abstract concepts when I am reading, however I do not often rely on smoking to help me understand philosophy, quite the contrary, most often I can not attempt it while stoned. Definatly to eat and sleep now as well, but that is more because prolonged regular use can do that to you. Sleeping does not feel as easy if I have not smoked that day, not that I cant do it. And like others have said, I can eat fine, but I rarely feel like I am really hungry unless I am a little stoned.

I chose all of the above and all stated previously, plus it helped me "from the get-go" years (when I am certain I had certifiable depression) to see things, situations, everything from different perspectives.
Mostly, tho: #1, 2, &3 I'd choose it helps me stay sane, takes the edge off pain and helps me eat.

I no longer smoke just for fun.

I smoke because I get eye strain and headaches sometimes and it helps. it helps me relax and not focus on the headache pain and allows me to fall asleep so then I can wake up feeling better. it also helps with the nausea and throwing up. so yes it is a very good medicine.

Indeed. I always feel that I am wasting the film if I'm not watching it stoned.

Like not getting pissed on your stag night..

Other cons- risking developing serious illnesses as a result of smoking poor quality hash and weed being sold on the street by scummy gangs who don't give a shit about anyone so long as they make money.
