Oh I am one, and I don't need other serial killers stepping in on my turf. Find your own victims man!
We have a good bit of infrastructure in place already and busy building cabins for people to come here. There are 11 of us here at the present, ages range from 55 to 3 yrs old. 7 females and 4 males. Some of us are in campers/fifth wheels at the moment but we do have a good well, hot water, electric, toilets. The toilets and bathrooms are a "state park" type facility, easier to heat/cool and maintain that way. Our big project is to build a communal type dining/meeting area with a kitchen attached, at the moment we have a M.A.S.H style tent, huge and does the job for the moment while we build. We do have internet also, although its satellite and not very fast or reliable. There is no income here at the moment (although we have some ideas once the buildings are in place) and practically nothing for jobs in the local town either, but you don't need any income to be able to live here, just help by building, cooking, childcare etc. A couple of us have savings that we are putting into the project as its our dream to have a community. Will post pics soon.
i wld love to join u!! No doubt about it but i kno this post is old so i've missed the train....im in Houston, Tx anyways but if anything comes up, pleaseget back to me.
Indeed we are here in AZ, however there is another person leaving from Sarasota to join us. He will be pulling a camper, so that maybe a long journey and he will want company I am sure. I will try and connect people together for that trip.:2thumbsup:
Cool stuff, keep us updated on how it is going. I too am about to ditch the 'real world' and find a life doing something else. I know that it isn't my goal in life to have a job and slave away to the man! Life is much more than that, I'm ready to LIVE IT.
Well, the update is that we had so much hassle from border patrol that we decided to uproot and start again. We were so close to the border that we had almost daily "inspections", couldn't even walk around on the property without an ID on us. All of us were from the USA, all legal but we were "suspected" of harboring illegals. Not sure if someone made it all up and turned us in but there is not a damn thing we could do about it. The border patrol has ultimate access to the property, and can enter without a warrant anytime they choose. So, a couple of us just arrived back on the east coast now, deciding on Plan B, put so much effort, sweat and money into Plan A that is quite disheartening but will bounce back and find somewhere here quickly. The idea was to get away from all of the "red tape" and officials in the country, never imagined that it would actually get worse and backfire. Still have loads of seeds, food, tools and truck so I/we (not sure of the numbers yet) might just take off, hit the road and see what happens !
Hey, I am interested in what you have going on, I am in illinois though have you and the others laid out any new tadbits since a couple days ago?
Well, the latest update is that we are in Texas, 3 adults, 3 children (another on the way). We are thinking of heading to Washington State but in a couple of months. We do have room here for some people especially those that want to start or raise their family with us.
