conventional on the outside, unconventional inside

Hi guys, I'm a 26 year old male from Boulder, Colorado. I love all things outdoors, skateboarding, snowboarding, hiking/camping, dogs, nature.. you name it. Like most people, I'm out in the world looking for love. Not necessarily on this forum, but anywhere I can find love from others. I look and act pretty normal on the outside, have a job for now and a reasonable establishment for myself in the 'normal' world.

All that is about to change though, I'm planning to quit my job soon, hit up the rainbow gathering in Washington this year (never been to one before!) and see where my life takes me after that. I feel like the world is on the verge of collapse right now and that it is important to return to a closer relationship with our mother earth, living with her rather than off her. I believe in this so strongly that I see my current way of living has a limited time span, and that if my decisions to try living closer to earth perhaps causes the ruin of me, then so be it, because I'm no longer interested in living the way I am now. I know that my life isn't meant to be stuck in a job until I'm 65, and that slaving away for something that is so focused on money and profit and 'success', is so far from my ideal of what is right, that I can't continue on living that much longer.

This is maybe where things get a little strange. I'm a pretty normal acting person on the outside, I don't fit any hippy stereotypes and am for now, a productive member of society. However, I'm ready to drop out of all of that. I'm an avid backpacker, so I am ready to drop everything and hit the road. I really have no plans where I'm going, or what I'll do, and really if all else fails, I'll be making my way to south america to live with the natives in the jungle. But, I would like to see how things fare here in North America first.

On the inside, I consider myself a pretty eclectic individual. I'm highly spiritual, spirituality being my most favorite and interesting hobby. I have a highly earth-centered spirituality, I consider myself a caretaker of the earth and one of her protectors. But we can talk about that later, if you guys decide you like me. I'm also a bisexual, and really somewhat gender shifty in my head. Meaning that I identify highly with both male and female aspects. Ultimately, I align more strongly with yin than yang, despite physically being a male. I also identify very strongly with animals, with them I seem to form more strong, intimate connections than with most humans I know Inwardly, I identify with canines the most. I have a dog of my own and I love him very much, not having him around really puts a damper on any situation in my life. I don't consider him a pet, but a companion, we have a symbiotic relationship, I provide him food and security, and he provides me grounding and sanity! I am also a furry, and no I don't have sex in animal costumes.

There is much more to me, but I don't want to go on for too long. This is probably the longest thing I've ever written about myself, and typically I don't like talking about myself for too long because i prefer to listen to other people talk. I'm mostly quiet, but I have a lot to say if people are willing to listen to me. Otherwise, I just let others talk.

I'm hoping to find people to meet at the Rainbow Gathering this year, maybe some guys or girls to snuggle with, and some people who find interest in what I have to say and recognize my own unique contribution to the universe.
