In the last wind storm a huge branch broke off one of the 5 very old trees a block away. Now the neighborhood is fighting over if they should die or not.

 

I can't wait to retire just so I can get discounts and bitch at kids and get away with it.

I'll tell you something that will be happening in my hood...floods. We're expecting a few inches of rain over the next 24 hours PLUS the foot of snow already on the ground...thank God I just moved to the third floor!

 

A couple days ago in a few towns over a guy stabbed his mom, dad, and twin brother to death. He claims to have "exterminated" "Person named brother, person named mother and person named father." Yikes.

 

^thats why I can't even watch or read the local news. All they ever cover is super depressing shit that no one really needs to know about. The last time I turned on the local news they were covering a story about a mother who went to some show at our music venue/hockey rink/football field/monster truck rally spot/..well, you get the point. Anyways, I don't know if it was monster truck rally night or not, (although that would be fitting) but this girl gave birth in the bathroom at the coliseum, put her baby in the toilet, and returned to her seat and acted like nothing happened. The baby ended up surviving and the woman is in jail, so its not a completely horrific story, but I would just rather not know about things like that.

 

Same where I'm at . So happy to be out of my old 'hood, where hearing gun shots, windows being smashed, yelling and seeing blood on the snow was a regular occurrence. The only concern in this area is when are they finally going to plow all that snow off the roads!? Winters really quiet anyways, nobody wants to go out in -30'C unless they have to.
