Here are my guilty pleasures...and a couple from my brother: 1- Falco and his #1 hit from 1986 "Rock Me Amadeus". 2- Anything from Ace Of Base. 3- Nu Shooz and their #3 hit from 1986 "I Can't Wait". 4- Peter Gabriel and his #1 hit from 1986 "Sledgehammer". 5- Anything from Howard Jones (brother). 6- A couple of the Behind The Music shows on VH-1 during their first run. 7- When Pop Up Video ran on VH-1, with the neat tidbits on the videos they were playing. 8- Genesis and/or Phil Collins (brother) 9- Taco and his top 10 hit from the 80s "Putting on the Ritz" (even cooler backwards!). 10- Michael Jackson up until his "Bad" album from 1987.
I actually don't think I feel guilty about any of the music I listen to. Even my trips back to reminiscing with the Spice Girls.
You could tell that Falco wasn't going to last too long in the US. His big US hit was him pondering what Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart would've been if he were alive in the 1980s? Falco thought he'd be a punk rocker. He was also known for "Der Kommissar" in 1982, which was the original German version of the song redone by After The Fire soon afterward.
@Kinky Ramona? Spice Girls? Wow! To be honest, I, like most guys, though Geri Haliwell was hot. However, I had a silent crush on Baby Spice, a.k.a. Emma Bunton.
Ah, Spice Girls. Like the Backstreet Boys, Britney Spears, and N*Sync, I feel a huge sense of nostalgia when I hear one of their songs. So, I might put add them to my list just for that reason.
I used to love the Backstreet Boys, but to be honest, I can't even listen to even my most favorite of songs by them these days. I don't know...it's just nerve grating.
Anything that has tons of swearing, fuck authority, hoes/bitches, sex, violence, etc. 2 pac is an example. I am at the stage in my life where I just don't have alone time to listen to that kind of music anymore. Black Box or anything dance/techno from the 90's. The guys next door...probably have never heard of them, LOL. TV show in the 90's us girls went crazy over. I'm swooning right now. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LQwCTvGHua0"]YouTube - Guys Next Door, Bad Boys Club
I like a lot of music that many people would consider guilty pleasures, but I guess it all boils down to personal taste. As Ramona said, I too am proud of all the music that I've ever listened to and continue to listen to... It's good to have an eclectic taste!
Most these bands/artist have some legitimate music but they all have some crap music too. 1) Coldplay 2) Dj Tiesto 3) Goo Goo Dolls 4) R. Kelly 5) Journey 6) Baby Bash 7) Alanis Morisette 8) Moby 9) Yes 10) Dj Hixxy
