Gaddafi blames uprising on drugs (and bin Laden!)

Colonel Gaddafi has blamed the uprisings on Osama Bin Laden and al-Qaeda spiking teenagers' coffee with hallucinogenic drugs. In an extraordinary outburst on Libyan state TV, Gaddafi also compared himself to the Queen of England.

"I have no authority coming from laws or decisions or anything else, I just have moral authority. I only have moral authority. I am like the Queen of England."

Well above all i must say that conditions in Libya are very soft and i hope the innocent people will come out safe from all these protests.

 

I saw something where he (or maybe it was just someone else) claimed it was LSD. If he does believe it's LSD then he clearly knows nothing about the drug. Aside from LSD's effects having nothing to do with protesting and violence, you can't (Lord knows I wish you could) trip consecutive days without drastically upping your dose. Since this particular megalomaniac claims it is being administered via coffee without their knowledge as opposed to measured doses, this becomes even more unlikely. All that aside, it's simply not true to begin with.

 

You're analyzing a paraphrased translation of a sloppy emotionally charged hyperbolic statement which everyone could tell is bullshit from the start, and picking apart it's syntax and details.
