I love Darren Aronofsky, and while this wasn't my favorite movie of his, it's a very masterful and moving one. Plus, Marissa Tomei :2thumbsup:
As old she as she is, Marissa Tomei is very hot. Especially when she dances in a thong. About the movie itself, I feel it is one of the most realistic potrayels of the life of a professional wrestler. I am no longer a fan of professional wrestler, but I still respect the amount of sacrifice they put into their work. I also like how they displayed the relationship bewteen the wrestlers. While they hate each other on camera, they are, in actuality, good friends in real life. Oh, and the ending, admittedly, made me teary-eyed.
Oh, how could I forget about the relationship between Randy and his daughter? (SPOILERS). When the daughter rejected her father near the end, I was in tears. I'm a daddy's girl and I can't imagine treating my dad like that, especially when he risks his life a few days later. So sad.
Nao hasn't watched it but from the name and cast it seems to be a movie that i must watch in near future..
I thought it was over hyped. Everyone kept talking about Mickey Rouke's comeback, not the movie. I didn't care for it too much, there were tits though, so that was a plus.
I saw the movie and thought it was quite depressing. Yes, you get an eyeful if you're a Marisa Tomei fan. It was nice to see Evan Rachel Wood in this movie. Filmed in New Jersey and involved wrestling and Rourke's character taking odd jobs, including the deli counter at an Acme supermarket.
