I have tripped to many different kinds of music before and found that the lyrics have strong impact on me. Sometimes when tripping, I really enjoy instrumental music with no lyrics, to avoid this. I enjoy lyrics that have some meaning and are constructed artistically. I have listened to some Metallica while tripping(Search and Destroy) and found it to be enjoyable. Metallica in my opinion has some intelligent songs, primarily their earlier music.

Master of the puppets seems like it could be contemplated deeply and I myself would probably enjoy listening to it while tripping. Although if I was tripping really hard the idea of being controlled like a puppet might be alittle to intense. In general I would say that if you like Metalica, you will probably like them tripping.

Unless your tripping super hard, because Metallica does have its dark themes (Puppets, twisting minds, smashing dreams) interesting subjects in my opinion. So it really depends on your own mind, can it handle these themes?

That's weird question. Why wouldn't people have tried that?

Not everyone is listening to sphongle and psychedelic trance when trippin.....:banghead:

I personally almost never listen to any of that and I can easily trip to black metal, psychedelic rock or even classical music. I hate the fact that people are putting music in certain boxes. Music is feelings and therefore different from person to person.

Metal sounds too angry on psychadelics for me. It's weird cos I normally love it.

Listen to 'Becoming Insane' by Infected Mushroom its psychedelic trance and metal all in one song, no boxes necessary.

i prefer to trip to some chilled out music such as talking heads, bob dylan, spacemen 3 stuff like that and ive tripped listening to some light metal which was alright i guess got annoying after awhile but what i can't stand while messed up on something is screamo which is my favourite genre of music while sober

    ^^This.^^

I used to love listening to metal on acid, but got away from all drugs for about 12 years. Now I can only listen to mellow music; psychill, down tempo techno/rave or really mellow classical while tripping.

Metal is cool with beer and/or kratom.

All rock, not just metal, grates on my nerves when tripping now. And it's sooooo much worse with shrooms.

God I want to trip again. Fuck!
I haven't tripped in months! I totally miss it.
I have to start chilling with my tripping friends again.
I've tripped to Tool before. It was pretty fun, but not as fun as tripping to LED ZEPPELIN.
Led Zeppelin took me to another world, man. You should listen to Led Zeppelin IV while tripping and stare at the album artwork, it's trippy as hell. I'm convinced that Led Zeppelin is the best band ever after tripping to them.

But if I were to listen to Metallica while on acid, then it would have to be "...And Justice For All." It sounds like it would be a good concept to think about while tripping. Master Of Puppets would be my second choice though.

Edit: I'm thinking about taking acid and listening to Beethoven or something... maybe Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon. There's soo much music that I want to full-blown trip acid to. Like Jimi Hendrix, Buckethead, The Doors, Grateful Dead, Black Sabbath, Rush, Yes and the Beatles. I love listening to classic rock while on acid, it makes the music sound soo wide and powerful :D

But nothing beats making your own music while on acid. Pick up a guitar and just experiment while on acid and it will open up a whole new world for your musical abilities. Playing guitar on acid is one of the best things I've ever done. I play guitar like Angus Young on acid, lol. My guitar was this ultimate tool to control the minds of the masses with music, I just needed to hone my skills and create sounds that people will like so that they'll listen.
