i generally am a gaga fan, but i feel like she's kind of insensitive to transgenders in "born this way." the song is all about how no matter who you are, you're perfect the way you are, and i agree with it for the most part. the parts that i think are insensitive are: Whether life's disabilities Left you outcast, bullied, or teased Rejoice and love yourself today 'Cause baby you were born this way No matter gay, straight, or bi, Lesbian, transgendered life I'm on the right track baby I was born to survive and I'm beautiful in my way 'Cause God makes no mistakes I'm on the right track baby I was born this way I just feel that most tg people would feel as if god did make a mistake, and they truly do generally want a different body. I mean it would be different if they were a transvestite. If lady gaga is going to be so pro-lgbtq i just feel like she shouldn't blanket all the terms if she doesn't know what they really mean. thoughts?
Religion and me don't agree. But I don't think that's what she was getting at, I don't think it was insensitive at all actually, It was just trying to help those who are different, certainly not trying to put anyone down. I do see what you're saying though.
No offence to any Lady Gaga fans but I think you are reading too much into her lyrics. I doubt she thought about the connotations of everything she put on paper and instead looked into making something which was catchy. I like the song and I don't think she meant any insensitivity as it were
It's just a song. As a person who falls under the Trans umbrella - sure I've chuckled at the phrase 'God makes no mistakes' But at no time did I ever think it was insensitive. It's a beautiful song with a beautiful message and anyone who goes digging to find offence is doing just that - digging to find something to validate their own victimization/activism. And I think anybody who knows anything about Lady Gaga, would know that she had no intent to slight anybody.
I like this song but I find insensistive the part in which she says "Don't be a Drag just be a Queen"
She's that about them? That's why the smart ass Madonna on the youtube... weins me now? Gotch'a. I should think now. That means that she is an anti-... disestablishmentarianist: whichever.
I'm too disgusted that people here seem to dig lady gaga to have an opinion. Look behind the smoke and mirrors, would you, please?
Just Made A Quick Check Behind The S and M, And All I Found Was...$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ Signs.... Cheers Glen.
Mmmm S and M.... I mean... Yes. That's right, dollar signs. And young girls with dead eyes. Fuck it, not just young, not just girls. Anyone seen Metropolis? Blatant similarity with lardy gagga going on there. And I don't want to go all conspiracy nut on y'all but HAVE YOU SEEN THE SYMBOLISM SHE HAS ADOPTED? Much the same as Beyonce, Kelly Rowland, Jay-Z, all those stupid crooked bitches. Symbolic rebirths, masonic hand signs, the works. They get crowds, fucking thousands of people, all raising their hands in the symbol of the pyramid. They know what's up. THEIR FANS FUCKING DON'T WAKE THE FUCK UP WAKE THE FUCK UP WAKE THE FUCK UP WAKE THE FUCK UP WAKE THE FUCK UP WAKE THE FUCK UP WAKE THE FUCK UP WAKE THE FUCK UP WAKE THE FUCK UP WAKE THE FUCK UP WAKE THE FUCK UP WAKE THE FUCK UP WAKE THE FUCK UP
i dont particularly like Lady Gaga or care about what she has to say, but i think the lyrics u quoted can be interpreted in a completely different way. "u were born this way" doesnt mean that if u were born a male u shouldnt want to be a female. it means that u were born human, and if u feel uncomfortable with your body, u can do whatever u want with it, its your body, u were born with feelings u shouldnt be ashamed of.
I saw a video on this. I have a lot to say about it, but it would just offend people and have them screaming at me. I don't feel like dealing with it, lol.
