I really should write these before I finish my long days because I tend to forget a lot of the dreams I have. I know I had several crazy dreams last night, but only one is really standing out as it was the longest.

So it was another arena based dream consisting of people fighting and competing over something. It was a gigantic setting with the center being a large, lush jungle full of looming trees, twisted vines and high grass. The jungle floor was a slight cone shape, with the center of the jungle being the bottom of the cone. All around the top of the cone was a brown, stone wall that wrapped around the entire outer rim. In the middle of each of the four walls was a set of double stone doors leading out of the jungle arena. The space outside the jungle was also outdoors, but wrapped around the jungle as well with about 20 feet between the jungle wall and the wall confining this new area. Throughout this area were various vehicles, small huts and walls and various other obstacles for arena purposes.

The idea of this arena was a grand competition death match. It wasn't quite a video game we were in, but an advanced simulation where you were in control of a clone body that you could use to do your bidding, remotely accessed from some far away location. Think of it like a combination of "Gamer" and "The Matrix". My particular avatar was a black ops specialist. I was adorned in badass black gear with a ninja-esque face mask, combat boots and all manner of pockets, straps and other wise military style equipment. There were two sides in the death match, the side I was on and the other side. My side looked akin to a more organized military, while the other side looked a bit like guerilla fighters with camo pants, bandanas and tattered shirts.

Most of the fighting took place inside the jungle. In fact all of my team was in the jungle arena, but given the fact that I was the specialist of the team, I hung out outside the jungle in the area with the huts and vehicles. As the enemy players left the jungle to grab weapons or supplies I would silently pick them off preventing reinforcements. The dream became a blurry montage of me killing the enemy. I specifically remember grabbing a sniper rifle at one point and using it to pick some off from a distance. The dream slowed down when I entered a hut and dispatch two enemies in a manner I cannot remember. I searched their body for potential weapons and munitions, only to find an AK-47 missing a clip, and a loaded clip to another gun that didn't exist there.

Suddenly I heard a noise as though somebody was coming. I hid behind a black curtain that was in the hut that I could see through. Knowing I was dressed in black I was sure I would be invisible to anybody who entered the room as the walls were black as well. I pulled out the large knife in my boot an waited, prepared to ambush whoever might come through. For the longest time I waited and nobody entered. I started to think he must have changed direction and returned to the fray. Then, out of the other door in the hut, I saw one of my teammates looting a vehicle. I debating killing her for a second as I was frustrated I didn't get to ambush my victim and because I knew that it would have no real consequence as we were controlling clone avatars.

The dream teleported and round one was over. I took my mask off and one of my teachers from college was there. She is a fight teacher so it made sense that she was there. She asked to take her picture with me because she was honored she was the one time teacher of the "black spectre". That is what she called me so I assumed that is what my special assignment was. As round two was about to begin I decided to take a different approach and enter the jungle as to dispatch enemies Rambo style. Unfortunately I don't know what happened past this point as the dream ended.

So it's been a minute since I did an entry and I am currently confused about my days and nights as I remember some of my dreams but I'm not sure when they were now. It's kinda odd. So I'm going to talk about a lucid dream I had the other night. I could have SWORN it was tuesday night, but it wasn't somehow, so now I feel like I'm shifting through realities... or I have a brain tumor.

So... the other night... I had a dream that became lucid. It was brief, like the alien snow dream, but the lucidity lasted a bit longer before I woke up.

I was in a room, about 10x10 feet in size. There was a bed in the room, maybe 5x4 feet that was up against a wall. In one corner of the room was a door, the walls paneled in dark oak wood with book shelves built into the walls. The shelves had books all over them. I was giving a seminar or a class in the room (which is weird because I never give seminars or classes in life) and I was using the bed to place my folders and papers for the lesson plan. My students, who were all around my age, were lined up along all four walls. Nobody was on the bed, just standing right next to it. There were so many people crammed in there that all their shoulders were touching.

I grabbed a bunch of stapled packets and started passing them down the line. As this was happening I began to think out loud in the dream as the students watched me with anxiousness. "So yeah, this is what we are doing today," I began to speak, "I'm not sure what it is we are doing as I haven't actually planned for anything. And if I haven't planned for anything it's because there was nothing to plan for... because this isn't happening. So it must be a dream!" As I said that I achieved lucidity and my students smiled at me, almost as if they were proud I found out. "In that case, I'm outta here!" I said as I threw my paper into the air and walked toward the door. Knowing I didn't have any real responsibility and knowing they weren't real people I didn't feel bad just leaving them.

I walked through the door which lead to a hallway. For some reason I was surprised to see this. I supposed I expected to be outside when I opened the door. There were two people walking through the hallway and for a moment I raised my fist to one of them because I was contemplating punching him in the face to see what would happen, if he would react naturally like the realistic textures from my last dream. I decided against it, however, when I saw a large window to my right. On the other side of the window I saw a large mountain range sprawling out into the distance. At this point I thought, "Fuck it, I'm gunna try my hand at full out flying."

I chose to fly for a few reasons:

    1. Everybody chooses to fly in their dreams, and it had been a long time since I had flown in my lucid dream. Even the dream I had about hovering while using telekinesis to lift the building out of the water was still just hovering.
    2. I really, really, really wanted to fly straight through the glass in the window in an epic display of power while simultaneously seeing if the glass would cut me as it does in life.
    3. The mountain range looked like it would be awesome from the sky.

So I faced the window, told myself I would fly, put my arms back... and fell to the floor. I was lying on the floor on my stomach in the hallway. I couldn't fly, no matter how hard I tried. Then I woke up.

Anti-climactic, I know. If you are disappointed imagine my disappointment. Hopefully next time will work out better.

So I'm doing three nights of dreams in one post. They will get longer as details have been lost on me over the days.

Three nights ago I had a dream I was in my friend's neighborhood with a broken, red motorcycle. I was walking it to his house so we could fix it when I came across another motorcycle. This one was black and was parked on the sidewalk. I looked across the street and noticed a parked green van with a black guy getting out. I initially was thinking about taking the badass looking black motorcycle but thought otherwise when I saw the guy walking towards it. "Is that your motorcycle?" I asked. He said it was and then thanked me for asking him- which I found odd. Then I looked down the street and saw a red convertible speeding around the corner while getting a little air with it's front wheels. Thinking this is something that could be dangerous, I ran out of the road and on to the grass. The car drove by me without a fuss and the dream ended.

Two nights ago I had a dream I was hanging out with my ex-friend, Mark. Mark and I stopped talking about a year and a half ago and ever since I have a dream every few weeks that we are doing something different.

In this particular dream we were walking around what I can only assume was a college campus. There seemed to be an infestation of bright, colorful animals and plants. There were tropical colored plants growing out of cracks in the road, cars and even a dumpster. We approached the dumpster and noticed a bunch of baby birds that looked other worldly. They had enormous heads and small bodies with gigantic beaks. Each one had a different color with a shimmering quality to it, ranging from black to yellow to blue to orange. We examined the birds and continued on before the dream ended.

Last night I had a particularly unusual dream... but then again, they all are.

I had just moved to L.A. and I was living in a motor home parked in a mechanic's lot amongst the cars waiting to be fixed. The parking lot was gravel and my main mode of transportation was a '63 ford econoline with a mustang V8 (something I used to own). The mechanic was on the edge of town, not quite central L.A. The reason he let me live there was because he was ordered to by the woman that owned the property his mechanic shop was on.

It just so happened that the woman who owned the property happened to be one of L.A. premier crime lords. My very first day in town and I get a call. She tells me to track down some guy that owes her money and cut off his big toe, otherwise she is kicking me off the property. I wasn't to kill him, only to scare him with this feat. When I got off the phone with her I told the mechanic I could possibly go to a morgue to find a big toe that way I couldn't get in trouble with the law and still keep my place on the property. He agreed and gave me the address to a morgue he knew and I took off.

Once I got in the van and started to drive I noticed that the brakes didn't work, they only made the van slow temporarily. The remainder of the dream involved me driving the van and trying to slow the van down at intersections as not to crash into other traffic. Then the dream ended.

A couple dreams last night worth mentioning.

The first one I was on vacation at some exotic location containing a system of islands. I was with a group of friends whom I don't know, simple fabrications of my mind. We all had rented jet skis and were riding them around throughout the island system. It was a lot like Wave Race 64 in terms of setting. We were speeding in between giant rocks that were jutting out of the crystal clear, tropical water while trying to keep up with one another. We eventual arrived at a large, rock cavern that was sticking out of the water. When we entered we found that the inside had been turned into a bar, half in the water, half out. We docked out jet skis on the shore inside the cavern bar and started looking around.

It just so happened that there was a brown dog with us that had been riding on the back of someone's jet ski. He was soaking wet and having fun playing in the water. The dream jumped to a conflict that was taking place in the bar. Apparently, one of the guys I was with had done something he shouldn't have and the local gang wanted some sort of reparation for it. As I stood in the back hearing them talking, I heard the gang say something about revoking MY jet ski license for my stupid friend's mistake. Pissed, I stepped in and made it clear they weren't taking my license no matter how powerful they were. "You punish him and not me," I said, "I had nothing to do with whatever he did." The gang collectively laughed at me because of how straightforward I was. Then that dream ended.

The next dream was a bit shorter. I was with some friends, people I do know, in a city walking to a club at night time. We had to trek up a couple block long hill, crest it, and make our way down the hill to the club at the bottom. We were being loud and carrying on as we walked up the hill. I noticed that there was nobody else in the city, just us. I kept trying to sprint up the hill but found it extremely difficult- almost as though my feet wouldn't get the right traction.

Once we made it to the top, I jumped and made myself float down the hill. When I was halfway down the hill I thought, "I can't believe I'm almost flying in real life." Once I landed at the bottom I shouted up the hill, "HEY GUYS, DID YOU SEE THAT?" They all said yes as though I was being ridiculous. Once they joined me at the bottom we spotted the club and started walking to it. The dream ended.

It's been a minute since my last entry because I've been so busy and thusly remiss in my journaling. Today is my birthday, however, and I feel inspired. I'm going to list off several dreams I have had since my last entry that really stuck with me. I don't remember the dates and I don't remember all of them (because I didn't post here) but I will do my best.

The first dream once mentioning was... strange... as always. I was at a Ke$ha concert for some reason and my friend Brandon Hardesty was performing during intermission. Because he was performing, I was waiting in the green room. After the intermission show I stuck my head through a small opening in the room that somehow lead to the stage where Brandon, Ke$ha and some other guy were lined up to talk to me. I told Brandon he did a good job and jokingly leaned in to lick him in the face. He laughed, but Ke$ha took it seriously and extended her tongue at which point we touched tongues for a second. She told me she would see me after the concert and left to finish.

After the second half she entered the green room wearing a neon green, leopard print body suit with black stilettos and her ridiculous face make-up. I was sitting on the couch in the green room and she walked over and sat in my lap dangling her legs over the side of the couch. She flirted with me telling me she liked me all the while giggling. Then she got sick and made like she was going to throw up. I grabbed her head and turned it away from me so she wouldn't vomit on me. For some reason, however, she resisted and tried turning her head towards me as though she wanted to puke on me. Panic ran through my mind as I thought perhaps her flirting was a rouse until she was sick enough to throw up on me. Suffice to say I lost the battles and she barfed all over my chest and stomach. Angry, I punched her in the head three rapid times and walked out of the room. The dream ended.

Another dream I had I was in middle school again with all the knowledge I have now. As in I was granted the ability to go back in time and relive my life. It was lunch time and I walked into the cafeteria (which was outside on the grass for some reason next to some brick walls) and said hi to a bunch of people that I once knew. I remember feeling so care free about everything that was going on. Knowing that nothing that happened in that school that day would matter years later. I laughed inside as I watched the girls and guys taking their lives so seriously at such a young age.

Then a teacher came out and said we were going to be going home early due to something I couldn't make out. Upon realizing I was going to go home I started to panic knowing I had YEARS to go reliving outdated memories, playing outdated video games and being too young to drive myself anywhere. I was saying these concerns out loud but the other kids were laughing at me as though I was just being the class clown I always was. I actually at that point preferred to be stuck in school where I could observe my youth instead of at home where I would be inevitably bored with nothing to do. The dream ended and I woke up thinking about what an interesting perspective this was.

The final dream worth mentioning was kinda creepy. I was walking down the main street in my town when flood water started to roll in (obviously inspired by the recent events in Japan). I ran across the street and found a random white car which I hot wired and stole to get away from the quickly encroaching waters. I drove up to the top of a hill where I saw an office building with people standing outside it.

I parked and got out of my car approaching the people where I saw my friend, Jessica. The dream jumped around for a bit while I talked to everybody and it was suddenly night time. I heard a commotion out side so I ran out and saw the flood water was coming up the hill. Knowing I needed to get the fuck out of dodge I told Jessica to come with me and ran to "my" new car. We jumped in and I began to hot wire the car when Jessica yelled, "CATS!"

There were two cats sitting on the windshield.

Water was beginning to touch the wheels but I needed to save the cats. I opened the door and told them to get in and they complied. I started the car just in time to roll out and the dream ended.

My dreams continue to be conceptually very fascinating. Just when I think I have dreamed in a way that I never thought about, something new arises. One of the dreams I had last night was VERY "Inception" like as it was multi-layered, with lucidity on one level and not lucidity on another. Allow me to explain:

The dream started with me looking at a visualizer as I fell deep into the dream (little did I know at the time that I was entering the dream via another dream by attempting wake induced lucid dreaming... in the dream). The visualizer was accompanied by music- a very relaxing and sweet music that I do not remember the tune to but I will assume my mind made up. The visuals I saw looked like golden fog on a black background with car headlights shining through the fog. Whichever direction I wanted the lights to point, they pointed. As I continued to watch the golden fog I began to feel a slightly chilly wind blowing across my body. The more I became aware of the wind, the more the scenery began to morph into what the dream was to be.

The golden fog dissipated and the black background washed away as rolling hills of a fantastical desert came into view. The sky was a combination of black and purple storm clouds with streaks of blue here and there (come to think of it, I think the other lucid dream I had where I examined the textures had black and purple storm clouds). The ground was a golden-brown sand and bursting forth from the terra was exotic plant life, the likes of which I have never seen before. Some were orange and purple and ten feet tall with pedals and spikes jutting from their stems.

After taking in the scenery I realized that I was 100% legit lucid. It wasn't like the one dream that I had where I dreamed I was lucid dreaming. I was actually lucid at this point. I talked out loud to make sure it didn't sound like I was speaking through molasses like last time, "Excellent. Lucid once again," I said. I looked at my hands (a technique I have been practicing daily) to see how distorted they would look. Too my surprise they maintained their shape rather well so I reached to the ground and grabbed a handful of sand and let it pour through my fingers admiring, once again, the immense detail in the little things. The cold wind was still blowing and for a second I considered taking off in flight. "No," I said, "I'd rather be somewhere else for this."

Recalling a technique I had read about on a lucid dream site I shut my eyes and thought about where I wanted to be with the hopes that when I opened my eyes I would be there as this was what was explained in what I read. While my eyes were closed I realized I hadn't really thought about where I wanted to be beforehand- in the dream or otherwise. In fact, I should think about this so the next time a blunder doesn't happen like what happened here in the dream. Anyway, as my eyes were closed and I realized I didn't know where I wanted to be I figured I could transport to the inside of an opulent house of sorts and take it from there. Maybe see what characters pop up and improvise. I opened my eyes to see if I was there, but to my dismay I wasn't. Instead, the wind had stopped blowing and the desert had become somewhat of a volcanic environment. The ground was charred and black with orange embers drifting upward from fissures in the ground. I think that in my attempts at managing dark, opulent wood my mind created something a little too dark. I didn't freak out, I simply closed my eyes again and continued thinking. Unfortunately the thought was too much on my mind's ability to keep me in the dream so I woke up.

    In a music/furniture store.

I had woken up into another dream. I was no longer lucid but I thought I was awake and I really wanted to fall back asleep to induce another lucid dream. I had headphones in my ear and figured that the song I had used to slip into the last dream wasn't the right one to keep me in it. I got out of the bed in the store I had fallen asleep on and walked over to the CD shelf to look over the other albums. I grabbed a CD, not sure which one, and walked back over to the bed as employees gazed at me. As I got closer to the bed the bed was no longer a bed but some kind of reclining chair. I became aware that it was probably rude of me to sleep in a store and attempt such a thing while people were trying to do their job but I did it anyway. I laid down and shut my eyes and the entire, double-layered dream ended.

I'm not sure if I woke up for real when the dream ended or I entered another dream, which would be interesting because in that case it would mean I entered a second level a second time. The reason I think this is because I did have another dream last night that was quite long but I don't know if it was before or after this dream.

Either way, this dream fascinated me because of the dream within a dream. In the dream within the dream I became lucid as though I was performing "wake induced lucid dreaming" and was actually able to consciously take control of the dream. When I tried to change settings it tripped my mind out too much but I was apparently in such a deep sleep that instead of waking up I actually woke up within another dream. A dream that continued the story alluding to the fact that I had been attempting the wake induced process. That dream was particularly fascinating because I was aware that I had been dreaming and was aware I wanted to fall back asleep but I wasn't actually lucid.

As far as I'm concerned this is the most interesting concept so far and I can't wait until something trumps this.
