Cars really depend on where you live... so good job on never having driven a car but you don't know where this person comes from

    ^ Exactly

Moreover, its not even about having to drive a car or not, its about the symptoms that are preventing the OP to drive a car, or anyhting thing else that requires similar concentration. Not wether or not you have to drive a car.

Yea we made it "tens of thousands of years" without cars, but we also could walk out of our caves and spear a saber tooth tiger, which probably requires a clear head and immense concentration. Much like driving a car.

So the whole not needing to drive a car thing is irrelevant in this thread

Waht you feeling at the moment I wouldn't say Is Szisophrenia to be honest. Could be just you're age, hormones and stress. My biological mother has szisophrenia and I used to be well paranoid about getting It but my doctor told me It's not hereditory but maby If you do alot fo drugs and drink. Aspecialy when I came off cannibis because I was having real bad anxiety attacks I used to convince myself I had it. Trust me I think people would notice you had It. Because you act as if you're on a different planet and you do very strange things. Don't worry! :)

If it were me, I would definitely see a psychiatrist. My mother-in-law was diagnosed paranoid schizophrenic but as long as she stayed on her medication, she did not have auditory or visual hallucinations and was as rational as anyone else. When she went off her meds, she talked an invisible person named Ted who lived in her laundry room. She also became convinced that the pope had come and taken away her rosary beads I had given to her. As she was a grandmother of my kids, I have read up on it and there does seem to be a possible genetic predisposition. So I say you should see a professional so you can be reassured if it's not and get treatment if it is so that you can get on with your life without worrying.

The Urarina people of Peru drink a holy tea named Ayahuasca.
The psychedelic tea is a cure for schizophrenia,
and a journey through your mind.

Because of your family history, I think you should take it seriously. Chances are you are not schizophrenic, because eveything you are relating here sounds pretty rational.

Unfortunately even if you have insurance our antiquated medical system still does not treat mental health treatment the same way as medical, and you may struggle to find a way to pay for it - but you definitely should see a professional, psychologist or preferably a psychiatrist. But they are very hard to get to see, often if you see a psychologist or therapist first, you can get a recommendation for a psychiatrist.

I had an aunt who was paranoid schizophrenic, but she was able to function well enough that she did not need to be institutionalized. A couple of wild incidents that landed here in the hospital, and she was always telling me about Martians being everywhere, I always enjoyed being around her.

I dont think Schizophrenia is hereditary atall maby if you are brought up by that parent and you are learning their ways aswell. How your mind is and how you cope with things.

The only thing that worried me was the part when you said you " imagine things and mumble to yourself" maybe you should just get and evaluation, it can never hurt, especially since it runs in your family. I inherited the family anxiety and depression...it sucks but I am finally learning how to cope with it naturally....with ganja.

Nothing wrong with it anyway. The only thing wrong with it is what made the person go nuts in the first place. Could be love, Could be money, Could be anything at all. But your still you, take confidence in this. 9 times out of 10 being crazy just means you have a unique mind.
