I've always been interested in Belarus. I want to know what its like to live in this country. I also want to know whether or not if the media's portrayel of this nation is accurate, wrong, or exaggerated.
I met a fella from Belarus a few weeks ago in a dance club. He asked if he could take me to dinner for Valentines Day and I turned him down because I didn't want to lead him on, but its a shame because I would have loved to have a friendly dinner and talk to him about his country.
Sorry it took me so long to reply. That's interesting. It's not too often that you meet a Belarusian in this nation. If I ever meet a Belarusian, I will not hesitate to ask him/her about his country. The nearest I got to Belarus was when I went to Ukraine in November 2009. Even though it' supposedly a authoritarian nation, I really wanted to drop by and visit. From what I've heard, the cities are squeaky clean and the people are really hospitable.
Yes, it is true, most of all Minsk. Minsk city but is good only for 2 days time, (3, maybe), and change location. Grodno, Brest, and Orsha all good to visit in your time in Belarus. I visit Belarus each year, from Minsk (to take train to Saint Petersburg), and then to Irkutsk. Maybe if you need advice, or have a question? Feel free, I can help.
