Hey! I have had my locks now for about a year and I feel like they have been pulled up in a dready bun for that WHOLE YEAR!!!! I have jobs that work directly with other people, but am not limited to my own style. I am looking for some fun, yet nothing too wild (ie, no Sideshow Bob ideas!). My hair is just under my shoulders. LOVE
There are a lot of different things you can do with your dreads. Some require longer dreads and others can be done with what you have. I like to wear a scarf around my head sometimes, with the dreads coming out the back. This can be as simple as having it as a headband type of thing to wrapping the dreads up in it. There are also other things you can do, using bands and clips. Some people get really creative with it. Pick a day where you can do all sorts of creative stuff infront of the mirror and have fun with it. Do a google image search. I just did a few to see what it'll show. There are a lot of pics that won't be much help (even under dressy dreadlocks it showed people with their hair down). But there are some that show some interesting and creative styles. *hugs* Jess
french braid it? french braids are really rad, with or without dreads. when my dreads were that length, i used to put them in a bun closer to the nape of my neck, slightly off to one side. you could also get/make some bobby pin jewelry to pin under the bun higher on your head, i got loads of compliments whenever i did that. half up (princess pony) is nice too, again with something to adorn it if you want.
for a second I was like "FINALLY she's letting the fringe dread up!" then I realized it's just shitty photo quality
mine are about shoulder length.. i either ponytail them, bun them, wear a bandana, wear headbands (shoelaces/ribbons/material offcuts), pretty hairclips and things.. theres loads of styles! just cause you got dreads dont mean you cant have yer hair like everyone else
I always used scarves. Go to a thrift store, they usually have really cool scarves and ties and stuff for really cheap.
