I really want dreads but of course I'm in the unfortunate situation of having straight blond hair. I have a lot of hair. it's just not curly. Is it possible for me to have sick ass dreads with such sorry hair?

Yes you can! I have very fine straight hair. My dreads are almost 9 months now and I like how they're coming along. Here's a pic:

That pic was taken about a week ago. They still have a ways to go but I like how they're coming.

    *hugs*

My hair was dead straight, and my dreads formed perfectly fine.

I'm neglecting most of my head. I have pin straight, super fine blonde hair :)

*sigh of relief* I just didn't want to try and start something that wasn't going to happen, but thanks to all of you I think I am ready to start knotting up. Thanks guys! :]. I'll be sure to post pictures once I get things going. How long did it take your dread to fully mature? Did you run into any problems? And would you guys recommend bronners or baking soda?

I would always recommend bronners. Just make sure you dilute.

And I also have really straight hair, it dreaded up fine.

Thanks! They were backcombed. I palmrolled in the beginning but eventually stopped and just let them do their own thing.
