Does anybody know if you get timer switches that can be set to come on for only a few seconds every few hours? The digital ones I find all have a minimum 'on' time of one minute, and the analogue ones of 15 minutes.

If you do get them, do they have any specific name to search for them?

    Thanks

the type of timers you are looking for a generally kind of expensive......around the $200 range......here is one....

now what i did was kind of a pain but i didn't feel like spending $200 on a timer..........when i needed to water my plants via drip system, i just manually plugged my pump in and stood there for 30-45 seconds then just unplugged the pump and walked away.......pretty simple really but if you going to be away for more than a day or two the expensive timer would be necessary......

you could also just use a pump that just barely gets the job done and use a digital timer with 1 min on times......this can be hard to figure out before buying tho. so when your looking at pumps, i would buy the model just below the model your thinking about buying. it will usually work it just takes longer for the pump to actually pump your feed water to the plants and in theory, should let you run your pump for atleast 1 minute.....the downfall of this is that depending on the layout of your water lines and their length.....some plants may start flooding before other plants, further from the pump, are thoroughly watered. so it would take some tweaking but that's up to you.....wether that would be worth your time or if it would be better for you to just spend the money on the timer that can go in 5 sec intervals and up......

the bonus of that route is that if your $30 digital timer goes out......you can go buy another one and still be way cheaper than the $200 timer....

just my .02, hope it made some sense...

EDIT:: this is also assuming your going to use the timer to do your watering......is that correct?
