I think it was around 1023 BC...How would you explain Moses' description in the Bible about the events surrounding the escape form Eygpt, with the eight ancient inscriptions found on the different cliffs in the Wadi Sidra area of the Sinai? Wadi Sidra was a natural route they may have chosen in the Sinai after escaping Eygpt.

 

I am afraid you know more of this info than I. I have eccentric and often criticized theories on the whole thing. For instance, Ahknaten, from my study, is a perfect candidate to be Moses.

 

But wasn't Akhenaten ruler from 1352 BC and on, which again would be to late for him to be confused as Moses. And I thought scholars thought Akhenaten to be inspired by Moses.

 

Well if your date of 1023 is right, he would be far too early. But I have some books that explain the discrepancy between Egyptian historical dates and the bible dates. They are by a guy named David Rohl.

 

Some scholars believe that the time of Moses was around 1275 B.C. but the majority agree that it was 1446 B.C. ..... and those charriot wheels found at the bottom of the Red sea have been dated to 1446 B.C.

We present the proof and all they say is coincidence.....

But with all these coincidences they have more faith then we do.

 

He is certainly a well known historian and archaeologist. I don't know much about him except I studied a little, just a little, of his work-A Test of Time. But if you match up some of his theories with archaeological findings I found that the Bible was more accurate. So I took most of his thoughts just as his own theories. But then again most of my knowledge comes from theological studies and you probably know way more about ancient Eygpt.

 

Keep in mind almost every religion has a flood story....

You have heard the prophecies from campbell and I, hopefully as they become more and more frequent you will realize that the God of the Bible is the true God.... Look at Israel, Look at Russia.
